for the last 20++ match i play on on9 dota, i always lose when playing scourge, but when play on sentinel always win

my friend also face the same problem lol

Its not scourge always lose, its just that its more challenging.

Its easier to win with Sentinel. Thats why for the past 4 months I've been playing on Scourge, and every time I win, I very puas

I think they notice this too and are trying to correct the map terrain. Hmmm its very hard for me to give example, its just the tower position...

and also, in my opinion, its because you fighting upwards (towards the top of the map like very positive... always march forward). If you fight downwards (towards bottom like negative like that... going down going down...) just my opinion

Give you a good example. Sentinel middle lane if you push from Scourge side, you can backstab by walking around the forest.

If you are in Sentinel, the Scourge wanna backstab is only near the tower. The other side, is too far (must walk across the creeps go up there, then come down and meet at mid) or (go to secret shop, then walk thru roshan then walk down and then only meet at the mid)

If you notice... you lose cos mid lane is the first the break. Scourge mid lane very hard to def....

Other than that is, okay lets see bottom lane...

1) Scouge wanna push forward, the Sentinel from river can walk up then immediate walk into forest and then backstab thru the middle.

2) Sentinel wanna push up (going towards 2nd tower), then walk walk then the only place a Scourge can come is from the river or top (there is no in between backstab routes)

when i play as sentinel....even if got noob, and we get owned gao gao at 1st, in the end still win back

when i play as scourge, even if starting owned them, but still lose in the end
sometimes, when i play as scourge,see see can break their mid barracks d, and got high change to win d, than got ppl in my team dc pulak :S

1) The only 'good lane' for Scourge is top lane. Cos if Sentinel push, all along the way towards the 2nd tower, so many points can come and backstab thru the top forest.

2) If Socurge wanna push down, can only be attacked from river and sentinel secret shop.


So the whole idea is... push top lane as fast as you can. Thats your only winning side of Scourge.

2 reasons
1. sentinel tend to have better teamwork, due to the host creating the game for his team to fight other (random) people.

2. the sentinel have 1 slight advantage...host doesnt lag

^ No delay is a very very huge advantage. You can last hit a lot better. Plus if you using INT char you need to click a lot of spell together fast and quick. Just a slight delay and you are fu*ked >.>

well, i host games havin frens on my side. but i dont keep winning. lol not to say im noob or what. it depends on the teamwork. it really really depends on it. scourge or sentinel, teamwork rules all. lol . jes my 2 cents

Usually the Pro and his Friend is Sentinels and All the noobs are Scourge.

So they got teamwork and usually in AR games they get to random first so they get the best hero firsts.

I ever play with scourge vs team sentinal and this is a clan with tags on it. Clan Warz i say. At first we were baddly beat and 2 of them left early game after they got kill 2-3 times. So 3 of us lay all on the table. 3 of us Cream the warz clan like hell that at the near end they use BoT to just push creeps and try to swamp us cos they cant kill us 3 (too powerful to kill). They have stunner Sandking, Nerub assasin, mepoo, tinker and phantom lancer as we are Axe, Witch doctor and Dazzle the new hero !!
We broke the middle rax and later side and mid swamp but due to internet connection over action i have been disconnected. It was damn fun but damn network sucks. I wonder what happen after that ?

in zion i have fought with a whole clan who actually play in the same cc (because when they joined the game they claim they have friend from cc which is their teammate and requested the host to kick everyone)


and but that time i was lucky because iin the host side there was cybertime Overmind , autosurf odin , mmorpg hiphopchai and 1 more i forgot (was it a netzero guy or something not sure)

and the whole clan actually took all 5 combo hero qop,loa,lich,veno and vs

and we just randomed ... and they got TRAHSED so badly at first 30mins it was like 40-1

u guys should play more on zion and u can meet those pros (p:S stop play on that stupid noobshit private server cough cough colourserver too many noobs and pro wannabe that actually thinks he and all his colourserver people are god damn pro...SRSLY) ( I CONFIRMT BECAUSE I MEET SO MANy OF THIS COLOURSERVER PEOPLE IN BATTLENET , when they lose they always say... COME flying spaghetti monster FIGHT MY CLAN OR FIGHT flying spaghetti monster clan... but the funny fact is their flying spaghetti monster champion(during that time) who came for smm tournament all the way from setapak (faTy) got tapaoed by us at first round i lawl'd)

You should know the team character then only you can play well.
Scourge definition:
- terror: a person who inspires fear or dread
- a whip used to inflict punishment

Sentinel definition:
- lookout: a person employed to watch for something to happen

If you choose Scourge, you have to attack first. Grrrr!!!! Bring all you men out. Don't wait till sentinel attack your base! Fight! Fight! and FIGHT!!

I play on Zion also. I play battlenet cos the line is not that good at the moment. there are also noob leaver in zion. Some pro in zion invite noobs to play. No quality so sad.

imo, it depends on the team. once me n my friend get pawn so many times (we r scourge) but still can win sentinel (tree down!)
p/s: probably offence team is so noob or to fun killing hero (forget about creep)

all ppl have diff view on this problem..well,i support what thread starter said about this mtter..no matter how pro u are,when u play at scourge u will lose more than at sentinal..as for me,i got few weird problem at scourge

1) viewing angle problem.it is just like playing football game (winning eleven/fifa).u will play better at 1st half and bad at 2nd half due to the angle of viewing.at sentinal u can always look up and the coverage is better in my opinion.coz i facing this problem.

2)sentinal mostly frens and scourge are assembled with random players.

3)easy farm places for sentinal (the forest have more option than scourge's forest)

but when i got frens (clan members) togather with me,don care scourge or sentinal also i can dabao ppl..haha

oO but i alwayz play dota at colourserver wor..@@ it depends who u play or what channel u are in.. in zion , yeah less lag and all.. but their attitude is really terrible. some are so racist that even i get bang for nothing. and yea, its hard to prove ur skills in colourserver. nobody acknowledges ur skills. you get blamed for maphack, abuse bugs, and other more craps reasons. if you are really good, prove yourself worthy in tournies. even your SMM champions play colour server. its for the fun of it i guess. Zion, Hamachi, Colour Server, you name it la. There will alwayz be leavers, friends vs public, uneven teams and so on.

As for why your always losing, here's a little advice. You don't need to pwn heroes to win a game, you just need teamwork.

Unless you PFF, then okay lo.

The host generally plays with friends, or is a better player than most others.

Flizzardo: Sad to say, that's the Malaysian sore loser attitude. Can't help them anyway, that's why I almost never go on private servers. It's a lot better if you've got battlenet channels for clan inhouse games, where the players are good, and rarely have leavers. Of course, the few I know means you have to put up with lag, after all it's battle.net...

Anyway, if u want to have fun, just join scourge, alot people always want to go up to Sentinel even they don't know anyone at the top, thats sucks and show how kiasu the malaysian is . And play zion cause there are alot of veteran there, not say zion are completely noob-less but still, its better than the colour

try play in original battlenet( US West) with those singaporean aka SG host game... the quality of player is slightly better than colour private server ppl in terms of skills and manners ....

thAT time i see my fren play 1 vs 5 he 1 person control 5 hero but we left the game at around lvl 16-20 like that then he buy all heart and push 1 lane. When people attack him he use tab to change from hero to hero and kill them when they come. Damn he is pro in dota

Seriously, I think scourage is much better.

The huge difference we can see is the teamwork.

this would have to do with whether you are used with the terrain's setting. for some people, they are more used to playing with the Sentinels and vice-versa. So the best solution is to practice playing on both sides.

sentinel players are frens.... ^___^.. nice teamwork.. timing they have..

be it sentinel or scourge..what matters most is teamwork & how u play..the terrain has been improved alot throughout the previous versions..so i guess its quite balanced now

3) On average, every dota player plays more on the Sentinel side than on the Scourge side, these applies to AI maps too. Thus, players are more familiar with the Sentinel ground.
