I tried the demo but chickened out cos I got scared by all the gore, spooky dim lighting and sound effects.

Dem! I am also easily spooked out, which is why I never finished Fatal Frame and I was cursing EVERY single time in Doom 3.

if the game atmosphere is too scary to play, just use the custom BG soundtrack and play some happy songs and don't play in a darkened room

IIRC bioshock will last you about 20 hours if you play it normally and if you're the run and gun type, probably around 10-12 hours. For a fps that's damn long in my book
