1. Yes, unless there's huge driver that can drive multiple downlight. Not sure if this exist, but not difficult to engineer.
Cons? if that driver dies, so as the rest of the LED that are connected to it biggrin.gif

2. Never tried before but it's based on the watts/power rating. If it matches, what brand also can fit.

3. Not all LED can be dimmable. These are digital lights, requiring 0.7V to power up. Some dimmable LED actually have high pulse rate (PWM) that our eyes cannot detect. Low PWM low brightness, High PWN (near DC) high brightness

4. I'm using that. Its actually different LED colors inside the housing. More expensive LED have multicolor spectrum depending on the voltage/current applied.

Different. The downlight designed for bulb has reflectors in it and have narrow light spread.

Pure LED downlight (flat surface) has full 180 degree spread.

If you noticed that bulb in downlight (hole) has dark shadows at the top of wall and ceiling, while LED flat has zero shadows.

You're confused.
Downlight is the housing.
Bulb is bulb (E14, E27 etc)


The link that you posted is LED designed to fit into the old E27 downlight casing. The LED driver heat sink are in there.
Bad thing about it is that if that LED "bulb" spoil, you have to replace whole thing, not just driver.


The newer LED downlight is flat (square or round) with driver outside of the casing.

The driver is removable. Either with screwdriver or pull out (connection like standard charger).

If you want to have peace of mind, i highly suggest you to get OEM brands like Osram/Phillips.
Few years back, you can only get from China/Taiwan made LEDs.

Don't forget that LED down light that I posted requires you to pull out the whole assembly for changing.

Unlike the conventional bulb E27, you just need to unscrew the bulb.
Plus, if the whole LED damaged and beyond repair, you need to replace the housing.
And after 3 years down the road, hopefully you can find the same LED housing... unless you bought few to spare biggrin.gif

There's pros and cons in everything ya but so far am using for 2 years no issue (fantas brand from taiwan)
