paid to AEON via PosOnline with my CIMB CB card on Tuesday & Wednesday respectively, payment received on today.
guess PosOnline is once again back to "normal"..

I know that we here do not have the crystal ball to see the future. But, is it safe to say that we can still use credit card, to pay Aeon credit card bill via POSOnline, and thus gain online cashback?

I am thinking to apply for an Aeon credit card for this purpose. If somehow this feature is "missing", there is not much use for me to hold an Aeon credit card.

As you rightly mentioned, none of us can see into the future, so we have no idea how long this feature will last.

I would suggest applying any way. Worse case scenario  is that you may get your free AEON vouchers if they're still giving them out. Easy to cancel cards anyway. So why not?

The card is decent, and has the 6 free airport lounge entries, and 0% BT. Based on my experience, the positive aspects of this card are as follows:

- I've already used 2 rounds of BT (each RM30k over 6 months). Together with my Public Bank 0% BT and cashflow management, the "earnings" from putting the extra cash in FD @ 3% are worth it.

- Total cashback (through the various promos and AEON vouchers) I've received since Jan 2016 to Jul 2016 from this card is RM670. I'm expecting at least RM210 more by September.

- I pay the card using POS Online plus CIMB CR 5% (1 principal + 2 supps), PBB VS 6% (1 principal + 3 supps) and UOB Vox 5% (1 Principal). When you minus the POS Online 2% commission, it represents a 3 - 4% saving.

The value of the card really depends on HOW you use it. It is one of my Top 5 favourite cards, especially since my previous favourite Maybank cards have scaled down their benefits tremendously.

Thank you very much, for your words of encouragement. smile.gif

1. Do you still need to pay RM 12 for the renewal of your Aeon Member card? Or, is it waived, since the Aeon Member card is tied to Aeon Member card?

2. I would like to apply for Aeon credit card, for general spending which is not given cashback by other credit cards. Free entry to airport lounge entries, 0% BT and 5 % cashback for petrol (for AEON BiG Visa Classic Card) are not my concerns. I am satisfied, if I can pay Aeon credit card bill, with my UOB VOX card. Which of the credit card suits me better?

New AEON Gold Visa / Mastercard
AEON Gold Visa / Mastercard
AEON BiG Visa Classic Card

Thanks for the suggestion. rclxms.gif

Aeon Gold Visa if you ask me. RM1=1 point anywhere.

When you mentioned general spending, then it's good to have a card with rm1=1 point.

if you don't frequent AEON or AEON Big then just go for AEON Gold Visa or Mastercard  nod.gif

Thank you for the suggestion, kawteem and DarReNz.

I am a regular shopper in Aeon, but grocery spending at Aeon is charged to my WISE card. I would like to apply for Aeon credit card, for general spending which is not given cashback by other credit cards. smile.gif

I do not have an Aeon Member card. Assume that I want to apply for AEON Gold Visa / MasterCard.

Do I still need to pay RM 12 per year, to have an Aeon Member card, so that I can collect Aeon Member points for my general spending? Or, is RM 12 being waived, since there is a RM 95 annual fee being imposed on Aeon credit card?

Yeah, I understand that RM 95 annual fee imposed from second year onwards can be waived with 12 swipes per year.

Thanks for the information. thumbup.gif

For normal spending outside Aeon,

Aeon Big
RM2 = 1 points
1000 points = RM5 Aeon big rebate

So, RM2000 card spending = RM5 cash back = 0.25%

New Aeon
RM2 = 1 points
2500 points = RM20 Aeon voucher

So, RM5000 card spending = RM20 cash back= 0.4%

Aeon
RM1 = 1 points
5000 points = RM20 Cash rebate

So, RM5000 card spending = RM20 cash back= 0.4%
Looks like Aeon suits you better

aeon member 3year rm24. definitely worth to pay when Aeon parking can get discount, aeon member day free voucher and etc.

general spending outside aeon rm2=1point.
spend in aeon rm1=2point.

we never worry about aeon Credit card annual fee as it can be easily waived...and u cant swipe 12 times in 365 days???
rm1 also consider a swipe...... lolx

Thanks for sharing the useful information. smile.gif

My concern is general spending outside Aeon. My family member already has an Aeon Member Card, so I can use my family member's card instead.

As you all said, Aeon Credit Cardmembers still need to pay RM 12 to renew the Aeon membership by 1 years (or RM 24 for 3 years). If that is the case, I have to swipe RM 3000 (of general spending outside Aeon) to AEON Gold Visa, just to offset the Aeon membership fee of RM 12 (RM 12 / 0.4% = RM 3000).

As for AEON BiG Visa Classic Card, the Aeon Big Membership is free. 0.25 % cashback for this card is the least among all Aeon Credit Cards, but it is not needed to offset anything else.

For me, I shall choose AEON BiG Visa Classic Card, for general spending outside Aeon. smile.gif Sorry, if my opinions and prioritization differ from you all. blush.gif

Thanks anyway for all advices given. notworthy.gif

Regarding the inability to pay for AEON Credit Cards with other credit cards in POS Online, perhaps we should take a more direct approach to voice our concern.

How about sending a WhatsApp message, or directly calling the top management of POS Malaysia? hmm.gif

Sorry, off topic a bit.

Can anyone provide the link, to download the official announcement and FAQ (as PDF file) issued by AEON, which states that AEON Member Card will be replaced by AEON Member Plus Visa Card?

Such announcement and FAQ can be seen in the AEON Member Plus Visa Card application counter, in AEON stores.

Thank you very much for your information. smile.gif

read the 1st paragraph.

the one shown at aeon stores is the "switchover campaign" --- from aeon member --> aeon member visa plus. details in aeoncredit website.

Thank you for your help always, cybpsych. notworthy.gif

As you said, the terms and condition for this AEON Member Switch Over Campaign is in AEON Credit website.

https://www.aeoncredit.com.my/ul/1561966505...ver__final_.pdf

If I remember correctly, there is a FAQ shown in AEON stores (written in the format of FAQ, not terms and conditions), stating that AEON Member Card will be replaced by AEON Member Plus Visa Card. Points earned in AEON Member Card will be forfeited, if the member card is not replaced with AEON Member Plus Visa Card.

However, I cannot locate the PDF of the FAQ in AEON retail website and AEON Credit website.

It is ok. Maybe, I have remembered incorrectly.

as i've written, you can use it like a normal member card: take ticket, use the new AMVP card to get "free 2hrs" parking. no payment if parked within 2hrs.

i've been doing this for months now. Aeon actually wanted to implement full cashless (ticketless) parking, but they postponed this for the time being.

if using the AMVP card as entry (contactless without taking ticket), will need RM15 balance (info from Aeon). Use at your own risk if wallet balance <RM15. what works now may not work later. else, just take ticket as long as it offers it.

Sorry, off topic a bit.

Let's assume that Aeon has implemented full cashless (ticketless) parking now.

In other words, Aeon customers need to tap either Aeon Member Plus Card, any Visa payment card, MasterCard payment card, or Touch n'Go Card, at card reader, before and after entering Aeon parking area. No parking ticket is dispensed.

To enjoy 2-hour free parking, the only suitable card is Aeon Member Plus Card, right?

I mean, if a customer taps any Visa payment card, MasterCard payment card, or Touch n'Go Card at card reader, Aeon Parking system would not know whether this customer is an Aeon member or not. Thus, this customer needs to pay the full parking rate. Is my assumption correct?

Sorry, off topic a bit. Many of us here are aware of the current parking system in Aeon, but I believe that some of us may be unaware.

The parking system in Aeon Taman Maluri is now cashless, contactless and ticketless, effective 9 December 2020.

To enjoy 2-hour free parking,

1) Just tap Aeon Member Plus Card (with account balance of at least RM 15) at card reader, before entering and after exiting Aeon parking area, or;

2) You can tap any MasterCard payment card, or Touch n'Go Card, at card reader, before entering Aeon parking area. After that, go to Aeon Information counter on 1st Floor (opposite Watsons), and provide your payment card and your Aeon Member Plus Card, to the Aeon staff, for validation as an Aeon member.
That way, you will get 2-hour free parking, when you tap your payment card at card reader, after exiting Aeon parking area.

3) There is also an option to tap your MyKad identification card, at card reader, before entering and after exiting Aeon parking area, if you do not have any payment card and your Aeon Member Plus Card has insufficient balance. Similarly, provide your MyKad and your Aeon Member Plus Card, to the Aeon staff, for validation as an Aeon member. Then, pay your parking fee at Aeon Information counter.
Then again, this option is not so relevant to us credit card and debit card enthusiasts here.
