i still have up to 13 june 2016 to return the item according to the apple website. (strange as i tot only 14 days after received the item)
i may test out the vm fusion with a windows 10 boot camp running. Or bootcamp with VM workstation to run two Windows server 2012 R2 to if the performance is ok.
Yup, u are right, for normal usage, indeed it cannot tell any difference in performance. I owned the mid 2015 macbook pro previously, for normal usage, i cannot tell difference as compared to the m3 or m7 macbook actually.
maybe spending rm7xxx for a 512GB m7 is really overkilled.
Haha if you don't run demanding programs then m3 is good enough. If you played Dota or used any intensive softwares on the m3 maybe you could try with the m7 to see if there is a difference?

yesterday when i on the new macbook 12-inch m7 and i checked the system info. battery cycle is 2. i have previously purchased a 12-inch model m3. The battery cycle is 1 only instead of 2. why would this happen for m7 model? is it normal? or they actually take out parts from the base 1.2GHz model and just change the processor to m7 to make it customised model? that's why 2 battery cycle due to some check they need to do beforehand? somewhat when i take out the new macbook from the box, it has slightly different feel than the one i had purchased before which it looks more 'brand new' to me.

also, before i go thru the activation progress of the macbook. i check the serial number on the warranty coverage website.
it stated
Repairs and Service Coverage: Active
Your product is covered for eligible hardware repairs and service under Apple's Limited Warranty.
Estimated Expiration Date: 22 May 2017
today is the day i received the item, how would the activation is earlier than today?
the m3 i purchased previously, the expiration date matched exactly the date i activate the machine.

That's because Apple Care.
It is automatically activated on the day your purchase was processed.
Apple Care will activate automatically if it's a warranty/replacement product. Not brand new from my experience when buying online previously. But since it's only a few days past and 1-2 battery cycle I wouldn't mind as long as the aesthetics is perfect
