but having used an ak 74 bm with balance, i can confirm that along with all the mods equipped, the handling is pretty good for landing shots. i can't imagine wanting to use an ar without balance to help with making it a laser weapon if only cauz its help me shoot better at longer distances.

Even though the FAL have the highest base damage among the ARs, I personally didn't like the burst fire mode that was on the FAL, same as the burst fire variant of the MP5 during my way to endgame. After watching the video I had to agree that the assault rifle ironically suck than the SMGs, since in this game it's all about delivering the highest damage to your enemies with the weapon that has the right talent and stats.
I'll just stick to my SCAR-L for now and try to look for the HE LVOA-C in the DZ and pray to god I had enough PxC or DZ funds for the AUG blueprint.
Yeah, AR with Balanced are definitely is amazing, simply because of the talent itself being quite OP. But AR without Balanced can still be decent with the right stability mods, so it's not the end of the world for those who didn't get Balanced on their AR. I love how my AK handles, quite stable and recoil is manageable. In Incursion, my Ak can reliably hit anyone out of cover with me camping on the right platform, even the snipers across the map. I have been marking enemies with 3 stack of Sentry talent reliably at a distance with the AK. And that's without Balanced, my AK rolled with Deadly, Brutal and Fierce instead.
AR have an innate higher head shot damage compared to SMG, around 75% I think. But still it isn't enough to make AR as efficient as SMG, which is unfortunate. Hope they really rework the LMG, AR and Shotgun.
