i subscribed weekly RM10 through USSD *118# & got 10GB Internet Burung Hantu

so it is limited, no more unlimited, those who are subscribing / auto-renew can check by sending MAX STATUS to 28882

this will be my last time using celcom, will let my Magic SIM expire & die by itself

definitely will port my main line to other telco since free basic internet is only 500MB & celcom doesn't hv long validity

Seems like Celcom is being clear that they are going to focus on the postpaid war.

I just don't like how Celcom keeps changing the plan without prior notice.
Gonna use umobile for data in the meantime and magic sim as backup...
Perhaps changing my main to Maxis fast prepaid would be a great idea since the benefits are kinda similar with better line strength.

Well most isp in malaysia reserve the right to change without any prior notice under their T&C

Well so much for celcom unlimited burung hantu to come to an end like this... I guess we will able to witness there is group number of user will either let their sim die or MNP out from celcom..

Yes, there's always a T&C that will clear them off to revise plans should they want to do so.

It's bad news for those who have been hammering away during burung hantu hours but for the rest it is good news. Honestly ever since they introduced unlimited usage during burung hantu hours, can really feel the impact on Celcom's network, more so when many are porting in to Celcom.

Actually instead of putting a 10GB cap now, it would be better to somehow throttle or give least priority to bandwidth hogging apps like torrents under Fair Usage Policy and that should do it. So normal downloads via HTTP/FTP can go on as normal and torrents would be given least priority.

i thot they already did that with torrent? even with unlimited burung hantu?
not sure abt others, but if i try n dload via torrent around 1am-ish, the speed was really bad
i don't think it's caused by shitty connection, coz i got full speed with normal d/load
good speed via torrent only from 5am onwards, or maybe it was just me

If the 10gb run out, can I purchase more for rm5 as advertised? Bcoz I'm actually ok with that. Cheap enough for me.

i believe the burung hantu quota purchase is for the new plan only. old plan must purchase the normal additional quota eg rm3 100mb or rm50 5gb etc.

Then if using new plan, can I buy the 10gb multiple times when finished?

Im looking for this anw too. If old plan cannot use the rm5 10gb quota, then that plan is no use anymore. Haha.
