so im kinda scare like fuck since my laptop are stuck at custom and they ask me to pay for sirim approval...so based from the email given i need to go the sirim office to settle this problem..does anyone have any experience with this problem?

second question..after i get the sirim approval what to do..do i need to pay gst for this laptop? pls help me..im 17 years boy that doesnt know anything about this

Handphone is confirm. Some say Wifi tablet no need, some say need (3G/4G version sure need). Some say laptop need, some say no need.

What about individual computer components such as GPU, PSU, SSD and motherboard?

Best is to go to SIRIM and ask what is the procedure? I have not encountered this problem before because i dont buy laptops from Amazon. The reason they're there is because its to cater for other countries, not ours.. lol.

Next time research first before purchase. Why didnt you buy it locally? Im sure they have predator laptops here..

Anything electronic must go through SIRIM approval AFAIK. I could be wrong. One thing for sure is that Tablet regardless of spec must go through SIRIM certification. Go look for Ansar Comp people as they can assist you regarding this. My ex company used to deal with them for SIRIM certification. It took months and a lot of money to get the approval.

For 1 laptop, might as well cough up the SIRIM charges and GST.

This. they got express approval but it is not cheap at all. used just few times for co. and that's it.

guys i already get the laptop and the sirim procedure quite ez..about the gst..amazon already pay for me..so only need to pay extra rm100 for sirim approval..BTW IM TYPING USING MY PREDATOR 17

I actually bought a Moto X Style from Expansys (based in Hong Kong) and all I need to do is to pay RM106 for SIRIM certification.

You'll need the following documents:

1. Proof of purchase (receipts or confirmation emails)

2. Device specifications (just print the specifications page from websites such as GSMArena)

Once you have these two documents - go to your nearest SIRIM office and ask for certification. Once you have done that, no further action is needed and SIRIM will release the product from customs.
