hey guys..finally u all there...jedi, if u wonder, can try my torrentflux server...subscription still not end...now i using rapidshare premium LOL...say TAK NAK 2 TORRENT.
*
actually i undastan the torrentflux concept...but havent use b4, so kinda nooby and duno how to use...

i dont like torrent too...not torrent not good...blame it on bolehland ISP(sCreamyx, Jaring, maxis , bla bla bla...)

what to do, goverment wan to jaga this stupid TMnet maaa...

if u r in oversea, u will fall in love with torrent....

but im using china man software to dl torrent, cheating ISP by doing torrent download on the web browser, so it's like web site direct download, so it will be faster compare to other torrent software...

im using it at home streamyx, can get abt 150KBps depends on seed....

ok..so how fast u can get the speed??

let say the server can support untill few GBps also, but local ISP can only provide untill 1Mbps max, paling pandai also let say can go 2Mbps la...then what happen?

like a big pipe can flow few gallon of water but the pipe in ur house is small, so u can only get few litters max...correct me if im wrong....haha..using water pipe metaphor...LOL

QUOTE(ShinAsuka @ Nov 25 2007, 10:05 PM)
virtual memory means memory swapping
imagine this
you got 2gb mem, and you used 1gb ram currently
and you exacuted a program that need 2gb ram
so your OS will assign all available memory to the program first
the rest will be placed in harddisk
after the first batch memory done, it will be swapped from the hdd
execute the second batch
so you wont be facing insufficient memory

but remember, hdd speed not as fast as ram
thats y swapping will slow down the process
thats y i off the virtual memory and fully utilize the physical ram
*
ok cool...i kinda undastand ur concept...what field r u in anyway? engineer? or engineering course student??

by the way, mind to teach us how to set so we can fully utilize our RAM?

best speed is 174kB/s...
so shin, it mean u change the internal ram one...not void the warranty ke doing so?? and how to off the page file and virtual memory??
*
changing the Ram slot and upgrading Ram will not void ur warranty....

as long as u keep the RAM the preloaded in ur lappy when u buy, then when u send back to warranty, take off all the upgraded ram and leave only the preloaded Ram inside, then will nvr void...

just tick the "no page file"
no bad effect, but if you got low physical ram
you might see the insufficient memory anytime tongue.gif

wat you mean by internal ram lol
the 2 slots is there lol
by default is 1 slot open, 1 slot with 512mb
cos thats the ram comes with the notebook
den plugoff the 512mb, and do anything you like on it tongue.gif
*
just remember to put the 512MB ram back when u send the warranty back,.,

by the way shin...what is the benifit of setting the page file to zero?

coz i just restarted my lappy and i found it makan more ram than before i set....

like after i start up, open firefox, it eats more ram than b4 i set...

it will be faster
and yes you will see those application with more memory usage
cos all on physical memory
when it is in pagefile, you wont see it
and 1 more thing, if you set pagefile
even you din need the pagefile, OS will force all the programs to use the pagefile
*
ok..thanks...waa..got one pro from IT field here to teach a nooby also from IT field one..hahaha..thanks anyway... notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

but seriosly, i can see the performance faster...just eat more ram...

the Confucius teaching..LOL...you win something..you lose somthing..LOL

so, what abt the OS forcing the program to the page file??

means if the program is inactive, it will locate the program into the page file memory? which is on the HDD??

Added on November 25, 2007, 10:42 pmok..did some research and observation....this one really not recommend for those with less RAM...this is for those who got extra nothing to do RAM memory to do this setting...

as long programs are executed
inactive or active also the memory will be splited into pagefile
so basically if pagefile is ON, you will hardly see insufficient memory error msg tongue.gif
in the other way, this MIGHT relax your hdd more
since no more swapping
this 1 just my assumption, din go really research yet tongue.gif
but theorically and logically, hdd will relax more
and stress more on ram
*
cool....since my HDD got heat issue..so i think this is the best setting for me...

u r right, no swapping, cutting off quite alot burden on HDD...

so since RAM is cheaper than HDD, better take care of HDD more..LOL....hantam the RAM untill it kaput...LOL...

thanks dude...so u r mmu student?
