Hi, a quick question here.

The RM500 usage on OCBC Credit Card counted only for swiped usage? Is online usage / purchase using OCBC Credit Card counted to this RM500 amount? Thanks.

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Oct 4 2018, 04:55 PM)
Can someone verify a few things:-

1. Does the date you fulfil the conditions matter?
2. The transaction "INTEREST CREDIT" on the last day of the month, does that include the bonus interest?

My scenario (new OCBC 360 account) looks like this:-

28-Sep Deposit 500.00
28-Sep Deposit 6300.00
28-Sep IBG out -1.00
28-Sep IBG out -1.00
28-Sep IBG out -1.00
28-Sep charged for Debit card -8.00
30-Sep Deposit 3702.90
30-Sep Interest Credit 0.33

I've been trying to figure out how the 0.33 comes about. As I understand it the daily average interest would be 452.60, which would give (assuming 0.5% interest) RM0.186 per day, or RM0.372 for the two days 28/29 Sep. Also at the very least should be getting the 1.2% bonus from depositing 500 ringgit minimum (as well as 1.2% from the IBG)?
*
Just to confirm.
The interest credited at the last date of the month? 12 midnight?
And bonus interest few days later right?

Not sure what time but yes, last day of month. Then the bonus credited a few days later (so far I only have 2 months, both show credited on 2nd of the following month).
*
Yup, already got the interest credit for Nov.
I assume interest credit is the base 0.5% rate (daily rest).
While the coming bonus credit will be the remaining 1.2% + 1.2% + 1.2%.

Not bad 4.1% pa. Not too hard to achieve. As freedom to liquid the fund anytime you want.
Better than FD as you are not tied down to some fixed tenure. Even OCBC doing promo FD for 2 months period still giving less than 4% pa return.

02/02/2019 02/02/2019 360 BONUS INTEREST -

How to pay with debit/credit card? Would online transfer count as paying with card?
*
For the RM500 spending, only usage by physical swiping your card or online banking by key in your 16 digits number and CVV code count towards “spending”.

So am I right to say paying bills wont count towards this spending?
*
As previous reply, is based on the method of payment.
If physical swipe at the card terminal example at kiosk, then yes counted.
If online log in to the website of the payee example TNB, and key in your card details, then yes counted.
If log into OCBC online and select bill payment method, then no, will not count as credit/debit card usage. And if you realise, the number of available payee via OCBC online also very limited.

Did they change some requirement for the bonus? I only get two 1.2% bonus for previous month statement.

1. Spent RM533.68
2. Transfers RM5 to 3 different bank
3. Deposit RM500

I've been doing this for 1 year + and this is the first time I did not get full bonus
*
I receive 2 X 1.2% also but is due to spending RM500 last week on 29 Mac (Fri) but transaction recorded only today (02 Apr). doh.gif
That is the reason of the lacking of another 1.2%. Rugi RM8++.
Lesson learn. Not to do thing last minute next time.

Hi, I have a question regarding this, would appreciate if anyone can answer my queries.

So for this Ocbc 360 acc, to be eligible for the bonus, criteria is to
1) deposit at least RM 500 every month
2) Pay at least 3 bills online every month
3) spend at least RM500 on your ocbc card every month

I'm assuming that your action of (2) transferring RM5 to 3 different bank is an act for "Paying at least 3 bills online every month", right? But based on the website, it suggested that us to pay bills via Jompay. So I would like to know if you NEED to pay bills via Jompay, or just transferring money to different bank (perhaps via Instant transfer, or IBG) will satisfy criteria num 2?

Thanks in advance.
*
Just transfer to 3 different bank will do.

Now using this OCBC account to keep the money.
Receive monthly pay. Criteria 1 done.
Pay other bank CC via instant transfer. Criteria 2 done.
Load to ewallet (boost/bigpay/touchngo) RM500. Criteria 3 done.
It is easy to achieve.

anyway to avoid annual fee & instant transfer fees?
*

No fees for instant transfers, unable to avoid annual debit card fee but worthwhile if your returns are much higher than the debit card fee
*
Apply for lifetime free credit card such as titanium mastercard. Then cancel off the debit card.

Yes, you can keep the OCBC 360 account without any debit card.
Annual fees charges is on the debit card. If no debit card = no annual fees charges.

i actually getting confuse LOL

if transfer RM500 to BigPay is consider "spending" or "bill", how about transfer RM500 to my another bank credit card is consider paying bill or spending?  confused.gif
but if transfer RM500 to BP, will kena RM6 when withdraw the money lah  cry.gif
i wonder is direct credit for insurance or donation to NGO is consider "spending" or "bill"?
lol quite confuse  sweat.gif

The RM500 "spending" here required you to input your card number (if online transaction) or swipe physically your OCBC credit/debit card.
It is not possible to do that with the above method by paying off another bank credit card in order qualify for the RM500 "spending". Nope, you cant input your card number. Nope, you cant swipe your card at the other bank terminal for example.

Not required.
Only credit card number is required for them to transfer the money to the credit card as "payment".
