Hi, i am looking forward to use either type of cooling method to cool my cpu.

Currently using the intel stock fan...

I am thinking CM Nepton 240m but on google results, forums, most of them have faulty pump or rattling noise

for air, there's this V8 GTS, but it's kinda huge to me, but i guess it's lot safer than pump failure and all, right?

Can anyone give me some advice on this... which is more safer and less prone to failure, etc.

Other brand like Corsair also can.

Thanks! smile.gif

What processor are u using? Are you planning on overclock? If not, just stick with stock also good. If upgrade air cooling, get a CM 212x hyper/turbo best already. If water cooling your standard 120m like the seidon 120v will suffice. I use a seidon and i dont seem to hear the rattle or pump noise that u mentioned.

Passive air-cooling with huge heatsink is best for me. biggrin.gif However I still use AIO because it's easier to dismantle and looks nicer.

Till date I've only had one AIO failed on me and nothing died.

Guess Air-Cooling is still safer, right?

I read on many forums, that AIO Cooler can have leakage and the fluid is corrosive and can damage my hardware....

I using i5 4440. no overclock... stock speed is sufficient, Idle temp is about 40c and in aircond at night, it can goes to 30c.

Just occasional medium gaming like Grid 2 and Pokemon TCG Online, the temp can goes to 45c. I'd like it to be lower on both idle and load.

about 45c or so, on light-spec gaming .... if 100% load as tested using Intel Processor Diagnostic tool, it goes 59c.

Which Air Cooler you recommend?
I am thinking on using Jetflo on it for the bling part. Blue i think smile.gif

I am thinking on CM Hyper 412s for the twin brackets so i can install 2 Jetflo for push and pull, and exit through the rear fan , also jetflo.

Room is airconditioned? im pretty sure thats cool enuf. But if you in better cooling with low price, take the cm 212. If you are into looks, take the cryorig coolers. If into performance noise, i think noctua and be quiet brands are good.

So many. I got more than 5 rigs. biggrin.gif Cooling system varies from air to liquid, from stock to high-end.

Air cooler runs on fan and fan consumes very little. biggrin.gif

If you want silent and energy saving, get big ones and run fanless in good airflow casing.

I where got measure air cooling power consumption wan? biggrin.gif

Refer to http://noctua.at/en/products/cpu-cooler-re...5/specification

Each fan draws under 2W.

Seriously, you're really doing it wrong when you worry about power draw of cooling systems. Fan and pump draw very little power.

at first was planning to go for AIO water cooling but after reading some of the posts here in this forum, looks like air cooling is better and in fact the performance should be comparable also...

The leak is probably from pump over-work, probably from very thick dust build up on the radiator and the pump will constantly work to move the heated liquid to be cooled, when it's not cooled enough and send back to the pump, this will stress the pump and cause it to leak.

A once a month dust maintenance will do a great job of ensuring AIO coolers life.

I used so many AIO and I had only one leak so far.

My main work rig is on Corsair H55i for ages, no issue. My other rigs are mixed of many brands.

I should start a [WTS] soon. tongue.gif I got too many coolers lying around.

If talking about overall "hazard" - yup!

That's why I like air-cooling, it's just that when you look at what I have in my inventory, the high-end air cooling are huge. biggrin.gif

I use AIO for the convenience.

your idea of wc is AIO.

"proper" watercooling are typically customs which easily cost over 2-3k and beyond

that's why got leak test ma
very long time ago my first high end rig, i also scare of leak that's why went with air cool.

now i'm on watercooling and the performance/noise is just awesome haha.
and listening close (like, putting your face/ears to the reservoir/pump close since its so quiet lol) for the very slight water flowing sound is quite appealing since i've never experienced that haha.

well if you forego the branding, keep everything minimalist, definitely can bring down the cost.
there are always exceptions to everything thumbsup.gif
