Anyone applied for the free (0% interest, 0 fees) Balance transfer from UOB?
They say no cost at all for 6 months. No Need to show credit card statement.
Need to pay only 5% of outstanding per month.
Total balance outstanding pay before expiry of 6 months.
Tempted to get free use of money but worry about small print TnC .Cannot find info on this promo online.
*
From the T&C, point #12.

CODE
12. For specific Programmes (Plan 1, 2 and 3 or any other plans as may be determined by UOBM,
from time to time, at its sole discretion), the Balance Transfer Amount shall be deemed to be
an outstanding balance in the UOBM Credit Card Account in which the Balance Transfer
Amount is transferred to. Due to the above, any subsequent retail transactions charged to the
UOBM Credit Card Account shall bear Finance Charges as mentioned in the Cardmember
Agreement, from the date of the transaction till the date of payment in full of all outstanding
amounts of the Credit Card Account.

Does it mean any retail transactions will attract finance charges? mega_shok.gif

Oh boy I just called HLB CS regarding the new BT promotion - it’s only for other bank not for HLB existing card holders.
*
Are you sure? I can see the BT option in my HLB Connect page even though I am HLB existing card holder.

yes, applied and approved -- now my available amount decreased in HLB, waiting fund disbursement to my bene credit card.

it doesn't even matter how much OS on your other bank, since HLB do not require card statements, as long the bt amount is >1k & <49.9k then should be fine.

my bt earlier was something like this:
Bank A - RM800.00
Bank B - RM1500.00
Bank C - RM1700.00
Total = RM4000.00

hope you will roughly get the idea.

Got processing/handling fees or not?

For HL BT, is it correct that I made payment to the BT account rather than the CC account?
Sorry, first time doing HL BT.
Thanks.

er.. the old / traditional way - i had the cash to pay off my spending but just do BT and put the cash to other usage tongue.gif
i've no idea how to cash out "for sure" sweat.gif

I just had an idea but I don't know if this is workable or not. This will require you to have Boost e-wallet.

Upgrade your account to Premium for free and that will increase your wallet limit to RM1.5K. Next, top up your e-wallet with the credit card that you had overpaid with BT. Once that money is in your e-wallet, you can transfer it out to your bank account.

Here's the flow:-
E.g.
BT RM1.5K to CC -> Top up e-wallet RM1.5K with the CC -> Transfer RM1.5K out to saving account -> Withdraw and use. smile.gif

Disclaimer: The method is not tested and proven yet.

I need help on the HLB 0% 12 months installment BT. Referring to the T&C clause below.

QUOTE
12. If the Eligible Cardholder fully settles the BT Amount before expiry of the chosen BT tenure, an early settlement penalty of RM70.00 will be charged to the Eligible Cardholder’s BT Account.
13. Subject to Clause 5 above and the total credit limit of the Eligible Cardholder’s credit card account, the Eligible Cardholder may apply for a second BT subject to HLB’s approval and HLB’s prevailing T&Cs and standard balance transfer rate(s).

Let's say my CC statement date 9th of every month which is due on 29th.

I see the following notice in my CC statement:- PLEASE NOTE THAT NORMAL 18% PA INTEREST RATE APPLIES AS THE SPECIAL INTEREST RATE EXPIRES ON 09032019

1st installment due 29-Mar-18
11th installment due 1-Feb-19
Last installment due 29-Mar-19

With that, is that mean I will be charged 18% if I pay my last installment on 29-Mar-19? Will there be any penalty of RM70.00 if I pay the last installment on 8-Mar-19?

Where can I find the info about expiry date of my BT tenure?

Thanks.

Based on my experience, better to pay on 10 Mar 2019. I take it as expire on 09 Mar 2019 meaning until 12am of 09 Mar 2019. As long as u clear it before 11:59pm of 10 Mar 2019, you wont get slapped by the penalty. I have been settling mine 1 day after the special interest rate expiry date and the BT account will dissappear automatically.

Thanks for the tip. One question. The BT account number has the same length/format as typical CC number. Can I balance transfer HLB BT account to another bank CC?
Is that possible?

0% balance transfer is spread equally every month.
Ambank, Aeon, Maybank, Public Bank, HSBC

Only Hong Leong bank allows minimum payment every month. (I think)

For Hong Leong bank, kindly note that a separate account is created for the balance transfer.
You need to make payment into that account instead.

Note that your statement date for credit card is DIFFERENT from the expiry date of balance transfer.
Follow the expiry date of balance transfer at the end of 6th month.
Refer to your statement for details.

Any payment earlier or later will be slapped with charges.
If there are, means we can keep on rolling the initial 6 months BT with multiple CC without any charges for years?
Technically yes, but bear in mind that banks\financial institutions can REJECT balance transfer applications.
*
Am I correct to say that the last date to pay off all the BT outstanding balance is on the expiry date in order to avoid incurring early settlement penalty?
I am confused with due date and expiry date. smile.gif
Thanks.

psiloveu has shared his/her experience for HLB balance transfer.
Well illustrated.
Refer to post 4251
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3918057/+4240

Take note of this in your statement
PLEASE NOTE THAT NORMAL 18% PA INTEREST
RATE APPLIES AS THE SPECIAL INTEREST
RATE EXPIRES ON 13102017

So HLB balance transfer expiry date is on 13102017 for psiloveu's case
So for psiloveu's case, make sure to clear everything on 14 Oct 2017
*
Based on the above example, let's say the statement payment due date was stated as 3 Oct 2017.

I guess it is safe to say that on the final BT month, we should pay the minimum amount on the statement payment due date and clear the remaining balance on the expiry date + 1.

According to the TnC below:-
QUOTE
The Eligible Cardholder shall be obligated to pay the minimum payment due in the BT Account or RM50.00, whichever is higher. If the Eligible Cardholder fails to make payment on or before the due date, the 0% p.a. interest rate will be retracted and interest at 18% p.a. will be charged on the amount outstanding in the BT Account on a daily basis until full repayment. Failure to comply with the minimum payment obligation will also result in a late payment fee of 1% of total outstanding balance as at statement date or minimum RM10.00, whichever is higher, subject to a maximum of RM100.00 being posted to the BT Account.

yup on "we should pay the minimum amount on the statement payment due date "
but
er.. why +1? "clear the remaining balance on the expiry date + 1."

it's "on due date" to clear, not +1 or -1, unless one wants to pay % or some cost, right?
*
See Post #6352. That's why I am confused. I had the same thought as you before. Let's hope someone can clear it up.

Why not? It's just a normal CC.

I did on Saturday for my Maybank cards, all payments reflected today in M2U. rclxms.gif

Edit: Fixed some typos.
*
What I meant was..

As we all know, HLB creates a BT account for every approved BT application.

I wanted to settle the outstanding balance in the HLB BT account by balance transfer to PBB CC.

Because of the HLB BT account is not a CC account, will PBB accept the BT application?

Thanks.
