Just want to share my experience of BT using Aeon CC. Submitted my application through email on Tuesday, got a call on Wednesday and voila today the money has already been transferred to the other credit cards. Thumbs up for the efficient service!

Just too bad Aeon BT can only apply once every 6 months once you pay back the previous BT amount right?

Can other bank like MBB or PBB do 2nd BT or 3rd BT before the 1st BT is repaid provided the credit limit is still available?
*
Yes Aeon only every 6 months. I know maybank can do multiple bt not sure about public though

Hi I have 2 questions:

i) Received call from HSBC 0% 12 month BT. I remember HSBC a bit weird that if swipe card after BT then will get interest or something like that? If that's the case that means can only keep in drawer after BT?

ii) If I transfer a large amount enough to settle all outstanding Maybank BT, will it auto settle the rest installment (i.e., early settlement) or have to request manually?

I'm first time on BT. Wanted to transfer balance to MBB card.

So appreciate advise.

If I have balance on CIMB CR card. How do I initiate BT in M2U?

Should I wait until my CIMB statement date or I can do anytime within this month?

Thanks
*
Directly apply through M2U no need statement, can apply anytime

Anyone has experience with HSBC balance transfer?
Unker has balance of 1300 in the HSBC card, yet applied for another 2000 balance transfer into Maybank Amex.
So how much unker need to pay HSBC in the next statement to avoid interest charges?
Does 1300+ (2000x5%)= 1400  good?
*
Do you mean retail purchase interest charge? I was told that the interest charge calculates from the date of BT approve
So once your BT approve then you have to pay RM 1300 to avoid interest

My 1300 was made prior to the BT applied, so it will be charged 18% also once BT approved?
*
Yes, that is what I was told by staff recently

It's such a pity that HLB BT doesn't allow BT to AEON, it shows invalid no. when I tried to BT via Citibank.

Has anyone tried before? Looks like I gotta BT AEON to my MBB and outstanding of MBB will BT to HLB. sad.gif
*
Not sure about HLB
I did a from HSBC cc, I just told the CS officer BT to AEON, only to realise after hanging up the phone that I should have told the CS is Citibank. But I couldn't bother. Turned out to be all good.

strange I applied BT to AEON however my latest CCRIS does not show any outstanding. Does it mean that it wouldn't affect my credit assessment (e.g., DSR ratio) if other bank were to access my CCRIS?

Did you guys pay all BT without any problem?

I felt so good to BT and drag the payment for 6/12 months
I felt so hard when the BT all turn up together in my cc bills.
It wasn't easy for me. Using cc really need discipline

No problem so far. Just need discipline like you mentioned. smile.gif
That's why I cut down a lot of BTs even if they have 0%  I can now do for my AEON (already can do another new round), HLB and AmBank, I don't think I will be applying because I don't see a need to drag myself into another rounds of debt.

I do put into investment but I'm not a big whale so that little interest earned can't really justify for my case. laugh.gif

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Jun 15 2018, 11:40 AM)
If no discipline to manage spending don't use BT and CC at all, will dig deeper hole for yourself.

One easy way for those who don't do too much tracking, just monitor one number (total BT amount) and make sure you have enough liquidity for that. Can leave in those savings accounts which generate higher interest (like M2u-savers-I or similar), just make sure that amount more than your outstanding BT amount.

If you think can't keep the full BT amount in savings, then you are probably getting yourself in trouble.
*
Ya no discipline really can't simply BT. previously I really swipe too much and BT all and mess myself up. Have to withdraw fund from my investment to pay cc debt
Have been refrain from spending and BT for a while, now the feeling of debt is gone, and start to discipline myself

Wonder if AKPK people can see our outstanding amount? Cause I always receive call from them rclxub.gif

Those are not AKPK ppl, just "agent" trying to make $ saying they are AKPK and "can help us" reduce our monthly payments. I think some folks are selling our data - those with kaka load of credit card debts, like me tongue.gif - whenever i do a bunch of BT, sure get several calls from "AKPK agent" heheh, even though my CCRIS consist of zeroes.

BTW, same method with CELCOM, MAXIS, DIGI "agents" calling - not from the telco but are dealers. wink.gif
*
I remember seeing somewhere that AKPK are somehow related to BNM and if so, that means they can see our outstanding amount in cc. Hence the call?
The calls that I receive are always from different numbers

I've not done PBB for a couple of years now. The last one I did had lots of queries and required me to write in with my BT application form and reasons etc... It was too troublesome and the bank did not seem to like it.

MBB I still do frequently and requires only a quick phonecall. In my experience I just explain it is overpayment but I never get asked further. Others have reported being questioned, but doesn't seem too bad. My personal view on this is that I will continue until the bank starts clamping down, discouraging, warning or treating transfers as exceptional. I will also always answer truthfully and provide full information whenever asked.

I’ve tried to withdraw from PBB, the CS questioned a lot and once she get to know I’m doing BT. She would only allow to withdraw this time and no more next time. Since then I never do it in PBB anymore.

I has a totally different experience with MBB, CS questioned and asked for BT receipt. Few days later the money is in, no issue so far.

I did both withdraw for MBB and PBB 6-12 months back, I’m not sure if those are still applicable now.

Thanks for your reply. Was leaning towards BT to PBB from Maybank since Maybank got 12 months, but Public seems hard from what you say
I have never done this before, really worry if after BT then Public doesn't agree to transfer to CASA puke.gif

Just an update if anyone is interested, PBB processed my excess credit to saving but mentioned it is only this time

So I dare not do it next time with PBB
