@ Sony: Yeap, Stimix was the one who told me about that and I bought it. I do believe that the size of the antenna is smaller than Stimix's. The performance is so far so good lah! hehe...

Hey guys,

How r y'all doing?!
Been bz lately and so many of u upgraded dy.
So in a nutshell, is it worth upgrading from the ain't-broken-need-not-repair WM5 at the moment as I read that there are some issues after upgrading?

I've toyed with a pda with 200mhz processor and i found the WM6 runs quite snappily too..so no doubts about the speed of the WM6. However, if this means occasional hangs then I'm willing to stay with WM5 as it did not hang on me so far unless i did something stupid with it...hehe.

I didn't know Asian voice has such complex frequency, I'm "proud".. lol...
If like that, try voice dialling by imitating a mat salleh slang lor =P

Dear klmc,

it is disheartening to know of the rate of depreciation but i'll be darned if i do not put the unit to good use so max out its goodness and then move on.

mean while, i'm curious of your aggresiveness in "plugging/unplugging" of usb cable. LoL
i've not heard of any such cases in any pda threads and yours seem to be the first leh..
treat it with TLC - tender loving care la unless you're planning to change to a new pda soon since u appear frustrated with it? =)
Btw, have u upgraded to WM6?

imo, the pda's phone volume is louder than enough while if used as a music player via its speakers...the only way to increase sound levels is via tweaking your music files' bcz its not as loud.

Question, WM6 now allows for msn voice chats ah? tht's cool...!

yeah WM6 msn voice clips/chat is bloody cool. quite fast too. So much better than poking at the keyboard/transcribers to chat
*
Well, you could always use skype to chat. For me this is good news bcz most contacts are on msn...else it probably wouldn't excite me that much.

@ JtuneD:

Pros of P535 over Touch:
1) WAY faster processing power (hell of a difference to play media files especially video files. I watch downloaded shows on this baby, as smooth as on a pc)
2) GPS enabled (really good useful stuff, ask STIMIX aka Chicken Little Guy aka GPS guru and he'll preach the godliness of GPS and tell you why humans cannot live without GPS =P)
3) Larger ROM
4) It has one of the loudest speakers.
5) Camera with Auto Focus

Cons:
1) Does not have TouchFlo technology, nothing like iPhone's technology so quite ignorable.
2) Slightly bigger than Touch
3) Slightly heavier than Touch
4) Boxier than Touch? lol

If you're all for practicality and usability and productivity, by all means get the P535. You'll want one! =)

@ jc79 & JtuneD :

Kindly note that the P735 is 3g enabled BUT does not include GPS connectivity.

@ jc79 :
P535 / P 735 is probably one of the best to get at the moment in terms of price/features/built quality from the Asus stables. Bear in mind that quite a few newer Asus models boasts various connectivity and features but runs on 200Mhz CPUs, which i'll avoid them personally because it is too slow to run those powerful connectivities and features imo.

HTC wise, i'd probably choose the D810 (the one marketed under HTC brand of course) or go to the extreme with HTC Kaiser a.k.a TyTn II, which is one hell of a device with pratically all the features in it plus a tilting screen! but of course with the penalty of a heavier weight.

@jc79 :

Warm welcome to our small but cosy P535 family.

Its not a battery issue and the battery duration will get better as you use it. Give it about 1 week or so to get optimum battery duration.

GPS wise, better consult the in-house expert aka Stimix to share with you his knowledge.

Afaik, didn't need to "setup" the WiFi per se and all that i did was switch on the WiFi and search for network and voila...started surfing.

@ jc79 & dokidoki :

Relax on the battery concern, it'll definitely get better soon bcz if Stimix says so...then it is so. biggrin.gif

@ dokidoki :

Just install CE Star to view chinese characters
I'm using Transcend Mini SD and so far so good. Kingston should be good too. Not much difference really. Get 2GB for more space to play movies on your PDA rclxms.gif

@ jc79 :

No issues with installing Active Sync on the PC, although I rarely use it...hehe. How about getting a fresh copy from Microsoft's website and install that again? hmm.gif

afaik, hi speed and normal speed only makes a difference in digital cameras...where it saves the photo faster.

@ dokidoki : on the contrary, this thing is highly entertaining especially with WiFi ! play scores of music or your stashes of movies/ tv serials and also surf the net while chatting on skype...the pda will not fail you =) not forgetting games would run well on its blazing speed processor =P
