BTW, just abit question..I try hard reset the unit Yesterday by pressing the Power & soft reste key simultaneously..but it failed hmm.gif  hmm.gif ...Check the quick guide but could not find anything about Hard reset...(Or me overlook somewhere?)
Frustrated, I just restore my old SPBbackup & atlast...got back my 6S startup time on Garmin rclxms.gif ..So actually how to hard reset ha?  blush.gif  blush.gif
*
it seems P535 employs different way to do hard reset.....should be in the manual...read it sometime back....

see below:

P535 - P735

To restore default settings tap Start > Settings > System tab > Default Settings.
Input '1234' in password field and tap Ok confirm that you want to restore the default settings.
You can also perform the hard reset by pressing the UP button of the navigation key and the reset button at
the same time.

hope this helps.....

hmm charging speed....

i have never experience not reaching 100%.....usually under 3 hours if charged at home using the power adapter or USB...

but using the car charger is amazingly fast......very fast.......

guessing that the car charger is supplied with more current, i decided to only use it if and only if needed....for emergency situations.....

i guess the myth on how car charger will slowly decrease the life of our pda batteries are true......

i find this interesting:-

Lately, Asus P535 comes with Windows Mobile 6.0 operating system pre-installed and has some specifically developed applications and functions. You'll be amazed with how many extra-menus and functions the Today screen shows.

if the new ones already have WM6, how come they have not release the rom for others......

I've read that some of you got the external antenna for GPS.

How does it look like and how much would it cost? I got my 6110 Navigator to work in my V-Kool protected car, but somehow couldn't get the P535 to detect any signal. Sigh...

Thanks. smile.gif

welcome welcome....

so here comes the unevitable question....he he he....

how much you bought it and what you get for the package?

and to avoid further heart attacks to those that can't bear the news, maybe you can answer with a spoiler.....so that those who dun want to know has a choice...he he he.....

have to ask lah.....the standard question when people buy stuff.....

as long as sonyclie put the spoiler.....you can still prepare early before clicking the spoiler.....he he he

Seriously i prefer simple and elegent design like this copared to ULTRA aerodynamic designs.
*
ha ha ha....LOL......ULTRA aerodynamic design......you sure made my day........

yup.....same opinion here too....i like the elegant design and color and button illumination by p535....color is just nice....design is not too curvy.....the button lights up nicely.....or should I say illuminate nicely....not like some pdaphones that has very bright LEDs that makes it look using cheap stuff...

Just came back from LY .... it`s true .... the price is increadibly low now. Hmm, might consider taking this since the price difference with D810 is reaching RM1k! That`s almost 30% difference if compared against D810's current price for something that loses in terms of exterior aesthetics, 3G/3.5G and battery mH but wins in terms of processor speed, 256MB flash, business card recognition program, superior pictures.
*
well....design is based on individual.....

i kind of like it this way.....stand out and be superior than the rest.......in my point of view.....

hmm....i congrats and great to hear on those who successfully upgraded the ROM.....hope to hear more good news from you guys....

on my portion....i am the kind of guys who will upgrade only if i can't use the thing....

so I guess i will use the current rom until I find flaws that I can't live with then maybe do the necessary upgrade....

do keep us updated if you guys going for WM6....probably I will only upgrade when that comes out.....

the interface of WM6 looks outstanding....

Hi Everyone,

I have finally bought my P535 yesterday..
javascript:emoticon('')
smilie

Thank you to everyone in this forum especially to Strik3 in helping me to make the decision...
U guys are great..javascript:emoticon(':flex:')
smilie

Hopefully, I can contribute in the future too.. erkk of course, after toying around first..

@ Strik3 - The P535's GPS works with my tint.. no need extra antenna..

The guy from PDA Expert@ Brilliant LYT was kind enough to test the unit in my car before purchasing it..
Very good service...

Just for information, I am using EcoTint with Ray Barrier TFI 3880A in my front windscreen..
Cheers.

So far so good overall all apllication runs faster especially the booting & acquiring satelite speed of GPS proxy & Garmin Que..Almost instance after the Garmin Que start...

The only possible bug that I hv detected is upon clicking "Start" & u try to click on the Today, U can't..To enter "Today" u need to goto setting screen first...wondering the old ROM facing simialr problem..Happened on Sunday when I tried to change the wall paer via "Today" Screen from the "Start"

If u read the Asus forum, some of the french & Thai guys that hv installed WM6 facing blank screen /check sum error..probably this stopped Asus from releasing WM6... hmm.gif  hmm.gif
*
well.....actually not a bug.....it has always been that way......the "Today" after you click "start" will bring you to today screen.....

its like the "show desktop" button on the quick launch bar for Win XP.

and on the WM6....better have asus clean up the ROM before releasing half cooked rom to us.

I believe only *.wav file works for sms tone. Anyway, I use Ringo for ring and sms tone...practical and convenient too.
*
hmmm.....Ringo eh.....checking it now.....

so this program auto starup I presume.....does it take lots of memory and space in the background? any lagging - some program lags...such as delay of 1 or 2 seconds beofre playing the tune but you can already see people calling/sms on the screen...?

I did but can't remembered oledi..old liow... biggrin.gif ..Tnx Tester for clarifying..pheww,,, biggrin.gif

no problem....

this button is quite useful if you have a few programs opened up and you need to see the today screen....

but good for P535 users that we have the task button on bottom left beside the call receive button that can be programmed to be task switcher....pressing it once will bring you directly to today screen.....

@strik3

thanks for your information....yup...the time delay is insignificant then....will be thinking of installing this soon....

what intrigues me most is that the ability to assign ringtone to groups....

this is much convenient and practical compare to the builtin contacts that only allows ringtone per contact which is really troublesome to change for groups as i need to change each contact.....

Some questions:
I had to reset the pda after inserting my SIM card?  Is it normal?
Is it true that if you charge the phone with car charger too often, it can deteriorate the battery?
How can add a shortcut for some programs on the main screen?

Cheers..
*
1) err dunno how to answer you.....cause once i put my sim card in on the day I purchase...never take it out anymore....
2) well not sure can deteriorate or not....but charging through car charger can get full charge in half the time of home charger.....
3) you need 3rd party software.....i am using claunch
