Hi everyone, can anyone list down the steps in buying a motorcycle for me?  smile.gif This is my first time buying so i dun really know the procedures, and i plan to buy using cash.

just choose what bike you want and tell the shop owner

they will help you with loan, registration, insurance etc

if you pay with cash, then u can skip the loan part

registration is usually free or very minimal, unless you want specific number

always ask the price for the bike. is it:

a. body price

or

b. on the road price

body price means the price of the bike alone, not including registration and insurance

on the road price means everything included

paying by cash usually u can get lower / cheaper price.

pay by loan depends on your choice and how much u wanna pay a month

Walk in like a boss. tell him what model, present cash, drive away. unless you planning to take loan, that's pretty much it.

not that easy. even if you pay cash, registration takes at least 1 day. insurance too.

So basically, the first day i have to register first and pay the registration fees, then the next day after the registration done, i just pay full amount and everything settled?

but if everything ok, morning bayar, petang angkat also can

but after several bikes, i can say avg is one day

Here's my experience.

I went to the seller and gave him a bank draft to buy the bike cash. I immediately rode it to JPJ, bought a cheap insurance and got the transfer done.

It took just 2 hours... and it was a 600cc bike.

ah... yours must be a unique case. good relationship with dealer and JPJ is a must or else also lambat.

esp the dealer. some dealer mati2 want the bank draft clear first baru release bike. laugh.gif

you're back with a 600cc supersport bro?

Not really. I bought it directly off the owner who advertised on Mudah.com. A bank draft is as good as a bagful of cash, coz it has already been paid for. Then I rode it straight to JPJ in Maju Junction (now tutup edy).

Am I back... ummm, technically I never left -- I still have my old GSXR400-RR in good condition, don't know what to do with it.

ah.. .that one is ownership transfer. berry fast nao

this one is new motor registration. takes a bit more time
