Using CM 380W eXtreme Power now,

Cool and Quiet.

One of the main reason I *think* my Antec blew up was due to heat... its stupid in-built intelligent fan speed controller makes it internally hot all the time lowering the lifespan of it by running hot all the time =.=

probably the third time this has been mentioned

the amount of ppl buying iCute is incredibly high

thus higher rate for failure

I think this is all a bit confusing. There's the cheap Icute that cost < RM50 and there's the high-end icute that cost RM150 and above, just like rest of the branded PSU.

So people who complained about, ICUTE, pls state whether yours is the cheap/OEM icute or the high-end one. So far, my icute(380W silent PSU - RM190..now maybe RM150) works pretty fine and it's on 24/7 (well, not really 24/7 since my HTPC went to sleep most of the time), but it was working like 18 hours a day for about 1 month previously and it's working fine.

It's what u pay is what u get.

my post was saying that ::

10000 buy icute ( because cheap , comes in all the lowyats clone casing)
probably 1% failure rate, thus 100 die , 100 vote into the poll

1000 buy enermax (probably more expensive, so less ppl buy )
also put 1% failure rate , thus 10 die, 10 vote this poll

its just an example...
THE HIGHER THE USAGE / PURCHASE RATE, the more chances ppl are gonna complain about it
(im applying the SAME FAILURE RATE)
we get different numbers

if ppl never buy b4 that brand, like only 1 in the world , then the vote will be NIL
or 1 biggrin.gif lol

depends on the price, popularity and amounts sold

my iCute is RM 100, came with casing, wat do u think biggrin.gif

Looks like coolermaster is getting better from past failage.

their new SLI ready PSU are all top notch.

even Xbitlab (famous russian PSU torture gang) praise it for it's great quality.

emba 850watts , mhhhh.

what does emba means? samba?

regardless, I'm getting one. What's with the PSU naming? Sounds weird and dumb dumb.

too bad it wont last long coz the stupid uncontrolled GPU makers are getting all crazy with their power requirements, 8 pins PCI-E PSU will replace all the other soon.

sad.gif

AMD/intel are battling to tune down the watts while their GPU counterparts couldnt care less. Efficiency goes out the window, PCB designers goes mental. The result is super huge card that needs it's own casing enclosure and independent power supply.

We can call it "GPU UNIT" ... and you can put it beside your watercooler and System Unit and Monitor. Buy a bigger desk too. oh the GPU unit probably needs it's own cooler, RAM sticks and etc. It'll be your "second" computer.

I have a feeling they "berpakat" with PSU makers to empty enthusiast's pockets.

Why u wanna talk so much and repeat urself??? doh.gif

I simply want to ask people who put up a response here to give more details whether theirs is the cheap OEM Icute (like yours) or those retail high-end package (like mine). This is simply to give a more detail picture for everyone who is considering a purchase.

Personally i've only have one PSU problem ever...and it's super cheap PSU x brand that comes with supercheap casing.....cheaper than the cheap OEM icute... sweat.gif

i've checked my psu, after installing 7300GT, the 12V rail (it's called rail right?) dropped to 11.34~11.4V ...

do anyone know what does this means? higher probability for my hardware to brick or smtg?

Omitted PC Power & Cooling because, according to many experience & comments, they rarely fail.

~~~~HOLLY CRAP!! I DIDN'T BELIEVE that iCute is really that BAD!!...until i change my unbranded PSU to iCute 450W this afternoon... I presume because so many ppl having problem with Icute because most ppl bought ICUTE, so failure rate also higher....this is definitely NOT TRUE to my believe.!!
Here are the immediate problems i encountered!!!
1. Noisier than my previous unbranded PSU....eMag or something
2. My system constantly hang and slower at particular time
3. I have problem using itunes, particularly when flipping through my albums cover!!!
Believe it ppl...iCute does suck!
Wasted my RM90...hopefully still can change back within a week to other brand..
So, u guys suggested Enermax right?>
Is it just me or the above symptoms are really the cause of a BAD PSU?
