dude, i think u r too extreme, LoL.
I heard that PSU needs burn in period too, cannot one shot pakai full load. Not sure how true is it thou. Well, my Liberty 400W still doing fine until today biggrin.gif

Nothing extreme lah, only 3ghz on air for my X2 and that's it.

Hmmm, i'm thinking about building my own high quality SMPS, just find the parts and buy the PCB and you should be good to go.

My ICute 430W PSU killed my 7600GS. Got a free replacement for both the card and GPU and voila!

I'm now using a 550W CoolerMaster Extreme Power PSU. IIRC, it's 550W. Or was it 500W?

Came across...

iCute = few blown ones, not that many
AVF = as with iCute, few blown ones but not many
L&C = many of these blow suddenly even on low spec machines, bad caps aplenty
No brand cap ayam = many dead on arrival, or have bad voltage rails.

Personal usage, both still working and have tasted 24/7 torture - old Enlight 300W from Pentium III days and 3+ year old Enlight 420W. Also have a spare Delta 300W plus a repaired L&C 250W (replaced bad capacitor). blush.gif

hmmm. correct me if i m wrong,

noticed the trend. mostly all the 400w to 450w all died~

maybe really have to check on power instead of blaming the brand?

no hard feelings, just an opinion

I've used cap ayam PSUs for quite a long time but none really failed me. One cons though for my Icute, not suitable for 24/7 usage, it surely will become unstable after operating long hours.

Its okay, not like my Antec Truepower 430W, 1 year only suddenly the whole PSU burst
Luckily still got warranty, got back Truepower II 430W instead with dual rails smile.gif

My PSU never died on me. Even the Chapalang brand. The only thing that killed my PSU was the lightning. Good thing the one strucked was the chapalang one. Then bought Enlight, now using Fortron. Both has been working very nice 24/7~ Only changed cause want a higher watted PSU. Now the Enlight is being used by my friend and still lives just fine 24/7~

Could it be that good branded/reputable PSU died because non of the user are using any sort of voltage regulators to regulate the current? I have used Enlight 300W and now using Enermax FMA460W running folding 24/7 and none of this PSU died.

a good PSU should be able to tolerate voltage variations from the mains..

heck.. at my place.. the voltage fluctuates from 230v at night time to a high 250v at daytime..

and according to my UPS, there has been 12 brownouts recorded for the last 2 weeks..
