From the list about I guess everyone is an old school jrpg?
There was once a Gundam jrpg game, Ms Saga. It certainly wasn't my favourite, nevertheless it was one of one I enjoyed most.

QUOTE(El-LoboSolitario @ Jun 9 2016, 02:03 PM) Yes, indeed, Xenogears music is so nostalgic, it's so powerful that whenever I heard it, I can recall the scenes in game, well, vaguely but that's just how brilliant the music and the story goes for Xenogears! Got xenosaga ma.....And Wild arms 1 comes in second! The only thing to dis for Xenogears was its Disc 2... and it stops at episode V |

The xenosaga series is "supposedly" prior episodes before the events in Xenogears.
Although they didn't specify the period, but it is well speculated it took place many many many years before. Imagine prometheus, and then Alien. The gameplay of course is a vast departure to what Xenogear offers. |

QUOTE(Duckies @ Dec 29 2016, 05:04 PM) Didnt even finish the first one. Good graphic, good story and good music but somehow too kiddy..cant bring myself to finish the game XD Being too kiddy yes I totally agree, But then again, what do you expect from Ghibli's touch? The road to platinum was an enjoyable experience. I would of course prefer a turn based JRPG, don't really fancy Level 5 concept of battle system which is very similar to Rogue Galaxy / White Knight |

The trend has changed. The departure of the latest FF series from the traditional ATBS system would only meant that developers have to succumb to the demand and preference of gamers. "Hardcore" gamers who lived through turn based RPG such as the majority of us here in this thread unfortunately only consists of a handful of a small slice in the pie chart.
Nowadays gamers prefer action oriented genre. Add a good gun and sword with splashes of blood and a little decapitation with excellent graphics, and basically you are good to go. Gamers in this generation do not understand the concept behind random encounter, and the battle system which is determined by your choice of action in the menu. Gamers in this generation demand "fast paced action oriented", and turn based would probably be a step backwards. I would pay for a good old traditional turn based JRPG. I would die for a remastered Xenosaga trilogy. We live in an era where games have evolved so much since the NES days. Alas, so has JRPG. We don't see Suikoden anymore, or our beloved Breath of Fire. Perhaps our only hope lies in the Dragon Quest franchise, and Megaten series (which is never a frequent release). World of FF surprisingly incorporated turned based, and I loved every moment of it. At the end of the day, my opinion is, we adapt to the changes of time, assimilating both the good and bad of everything. |

QUOTE(Pisaro @ Apr 25 2017, 07:56 PM) Need your opinion. I usually PO from Lazada or 11street, with the right coupon the price would be significantly cheaper than outside market.Usually where do you guys pre-order games? I will always look into Impulse.com.my first, but they are slow and filtered a lot of games. If possible, I would like to avoid getting from Play-asia.com because their price always higher (converted from USD) and no free shipping fee. Two of my favorite RPG coming to PS4 very soon! YS VIII - Yes, they coming to PS4! Dragon Quest XI Should I start pre-order from Play-asia.com or shall I wait for Impulse? |

I love Ys. My first venture into the series was Ys IV, released for PS2. Not a fan of PC gaming, no doubt I have missed all its predecessor, hoping one fine day there would be an English console version.
As I was awaiting for my post uni result, somehow I just downloaded the free pc original Ys I and II. Battle was, surprisingly simple. Ram into enemies to inflict damage. I love the last Ys for Vita, and will definitely will be my top priority again. |

QUOTE(danger46 @ Jun 13 2017, 05:58 PM) ![]() Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced through this week's Weekly Famitsu issue that .hack//G.U. Last Recode, an HD remaster of the .hack//G.U. series, will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PC. .hack//G.U. was originally a trilogy of RPGs for PlayStation 2, consisting of Vol.1 Rebirth, Vol.2 Reminisce and Vol.3 Redemption. It put the player in control of Haseo inside an action-based MMORPG called The World R:2. Last Recode will be an HD remaster of this series while also adding some brand-new features. More information is expected to be divulged from the Weekly Famitsu magazine, so check back this article for more updates. I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS! SKEITH AWAKEN is my favorite scene |

Why don't Namco stopped remastering lacklustre games, and at least consider to give us what we wished for.
Xenosaga trilogy Jrpg can never get more real than that. Especially part 3. |

I have played all available Ys, and I loved the series very much. Just that this time the release went hidden behind my radar, now a little bit hard hunting a Day One edition.
