What happen during power outage for apartment?

I'm planning to get a Router UPS for my ONU and Router in case during power outage at my apartment, i hope i could still get online with Time fiber broadband.

Question is during power outage at apartment, would TIME local switch still working?

Hello,

Hope someone could be of assistance.

I tried using wired connection to my PS4 last night and I was surprised that I'm only getting 7Mbps++. My subscription is 100Mbps. I'm using a 15-meter CAT6 cable which is directly connected from the DLink router to my PS4. What could be the problem?

i have a suggestion for you, youtube PS4 speedtest

I don't see free router upgrade in my self-care portal.
I got Cisco E1200 router when i subscribe to Time, then i purchased TP-Link C1200 from Time earlier this year, will i be eligible for the free upgrade program?

Got my 500 Mbps upgrade, and speedtest with TP-link Archer AC1200
Uplink - 510 Mbps
Downlink - 486 Mbps

I thought someone says AC1200 cannot reach 500 Mbps?

AC1200 is Gigabit router ,so wired can reach ~1000Mbps.
Many of them mention speed and didn't notice is wired or WiFi.
Try WiFi 5GHz and see ...... hmm.gif

Edit:
Previous 100Mbps package..?
*
In your theory that mean all gigabit routers can reach WAN speed 1000Mbps thru wired? I doubt so
WAN speed is so dependent on the router chipset.

Found it:

TP-Link
Archer C1200 - 100Mbps, ~300Mbps

You know what "~" is meaning.......arround.
I read this, dont worry and I also posted my WiFi speed on TIME300 above.
*
If you read it well, that mean around 100 to 300, not 500 or 1Gbps like you said gigabit router.
Gigabit router mean LAN speed, not WAN speed.
Just trying to clarify...

Not all. As you say, it depends on the router CPU or chipset, and the speed posted above is wireless speed.
*
That clear the doubt then, indeed wifi speed was about 200Mbps during the test from my cell phone and laptop.

I'm currently on 300Mbps plan. Waiting to be upgraded.

What you guys thinking about "Asus RT-AC86U" router? Thinking to get one to replace old dlink router.

I read some reviews said that router is very good. Is that true?

Thanks.
*
Yes Asus rt-ac86u is a good router but pricey. Here's one listed in Lazada @ Rm5xx pricetag
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/asus-rt-...VrGTLL&search=1
Another bang for buck alternative is Tenda ac18 below Rm300, can flash asus rt-ac68u merlin firmware which mean hardware spec is similar to the rt-ac68u.

Tplink AC1200
Exisiting 100Mbps package

LAN max speed 300Mbps with CAT 5E and 1G port on laptop.
Wifi max speed 250Mbps with 5GHz - channel width 80MHz, confirmed no inteference with neighbour’s channel.

I've got 500/483Mbps thru wired on my AC1200, i'm using CAT7.

Take it this way for the layman term.
Band = frequency = highway lanes
802.11a,b,g,n,ac = hughway speed limit

The lane is to prevent congestion or interference and the N or AC decide the speed.

I have already read this. That's why i asked those questions.

To learn your devices actual performance, you're either look at the product white paper or do a real world throughput benchmark.
That being said, you will need a router which wifi throughput is greater than your testing device to know the maximum capability.
