Can someone enlighten me is Time sharing SAME fibre optic cable as Unifi or Time contractor need pull new cable ??

I just saw today, outside my condo got Time team promoting this service.

When I called their helpdesk earlier they told me just plug n play with existing Unifi fibre cable... contractor just need to go MDF room switch the port...

When I asked again they said need pull new cable at my floor to my unit ????

Hi Bro,

Please check with your building management to see whether your building is prelaid with fibre infra.

If yes, there's no need to repull in new fibre cable into your unit.

Call me if you don't really understand.

Thanks.

Currently my Unifi is direct fibre out from wall does it mean already prelaid ?

How to call u.. u work in Time ?

Hi..

You sure that is fibre wall socket & not phone jack ya (you can snap a photo & pm me) ? If that is the case, then it's prelaid & there is no need to pull cable again.

Thanks.

just checked with my building management office..its fully fibre cabling from MDF to every floor/units rclxm9.gif

Hello, Im planning to apply for the 100mbps Time broadband plan in PJ, the main problem is that I only will use it for 6 months and I will move to other place, but checked there is no coverage. Is there a way to have the Rm500 penalty waived?
*
dun apply. Use mobile broadband for 6 months

That's the agreement n policy u signed to install. When u void then that's the penalty. Same goes to unifi

The funny part is that they sent a technician to check only but not repair the damaged exernal cable. Another technician will come for the repair which TIME has yet to confirm when. And until that is sorted, i'm could be out of internet for days! this is so frustating.

Asking in this thread.

I'm cancelling my Time/Astro IPTV because I felt I'm being ripped with 10Mb/s for RM149 and Astro contents are repetitive and doesn't appeal to me.

Question:
Going to change to 100Mb/s but I heard they are giving the Huawei/D-link combo but I'm on the Linksys router and to my amaze I love the router....it doesn't hang since 3 years ago and I have not shut down for the past 3 years.

Will Huawei/D-link modemrouter is as stable as the Linksys I'm using or recommended to go for Asus?
*
need to check your router compatibility against TIME protocol

Guys, I just installed my 100MBps and noticed that the stock router that TIME supplied comes with dual band, 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz.

Apparently, connected to 5.0GHz yield faster speed but the problem with this stock router is that the coverage is week.

I was using an Asus RT N12HP router and when I replaced it, only one access point appeared and I'm guessing it's the 2.4GHz because it reflects so on the router setting page.

Is there any router equivalent to the RT N12HP that gives out 5GHz?
*
This old router only single band

My house is approximately 1,9k square feet and the router is located in the dry kitchen area, which is in the middle of the house. Using the stock TIME router, my master bedroom gets no connectivity laugh.gif

Below my current floor plan, if i want to put at my current (center) location, then the tech would require to drill 3 through holes into the Bed Room #1 , while if put at living room only 1 hole required, but I'm worry the DIR-850L TX Power are very hard to reach/cover for the Master Room as it need to penetrate through 3 walls within ~13 meters (40 feets radius)...  sweat.gif

why dont just use Extender ?
