recently changed to time ac 1200 free router. my old router asus can achieve 520 up and down consistently.

with this new modem my pc can only achieve 150-200 mbps down and 300mbps up.

tried lan port 1 2, same result. turned off nat boost, same resuult. reset both modem and router. same result.

5g can achieve 300-400mbps

yes as long as u are using a good cat 5E/ Cat 6 cable and Gigabit network port on ur pc/ laptop

how come using same cable on my asus router i achieve 500 up and down, then same cable on ac1200 i get 1xx / 1xx.

blows my mind how they are using the router for 500mbps when it cant even achieve half of the speed. corporate deals with tplink?

gotta switch back my old asus router for 500mbps speed.

best way to test your max speed is via downloading anything uploaded to google drive.

not all speedtest provider can reach up to 1gbps on their upload and download.

Yes Asus rt-ac86u is a good router but pricey. Here's one listed in Lazada @ Rm5xx pricetag
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/asus-rt-...VrGTLL&search=1
Another bang for buck alternative is Tenda ac18 below Rm300, can flash asus rt-ac68u merlin firmware which mean hardware spec is similar to the rt-ac68u.

tempting price from the taobao collection

ac86u can achieve 1gbps wifi?

The question is do you have any receiver that matches the speed of the router. Most receiver devices on the market are 1, 2 or 3x3 mimo only. Unless you going to buy tplink ac3200 pcie receiver from china.
