Just got Time Fibre 100 Mbps, so for looks good. However I'm not really impressed with the D-link DIR-850L router.
I have my own TP-Link Archer C7 router and want to use it instead. I had UniFi before this.
The tech guy who installed told me that all I should have to do is to change the PPPoE username and password and then I should be good to go.
Unfortunately I cannot connect. If I switch back to the D-link router (with the almost no settings) it just works... Time Support just refers me to the manufacturer for support instead of giving me info enough for me to solve it on my own.
Anyone else in here using TP-Link with their Time Fibre who cares to share?

QUOTE(tritonite @ Apr 9 2016, 06:58 PM) In addition to the PPPoE username and password, you probably have to change the PPPoE settings for it to work. Do what TXSim suggested and do a reset of the router first. Then, when setting up the router again for TIME, there should be a setting somewhere BEFORE you put in the username and password where you have to specify the PPPoE settings to be used. It should be drop-down menu somewhere where you can select 'Unifi Home' (which is probably what it was set to before), 'Unifi Biz', 'Maxis Home', etc. There should be one for 'TIME' somewhere, since I seem to remember that the Archer C7 has a fat 'TIME Fibre Broadband compatible' sticker on the box at the shops. OK, I'll set reset the router to clean out any incompatible settins from before. However there is no pre made TIME setting when setting up the router. Only UniFi and Maxis exists in the options menu. I already tried the wizard when I tried setting up the router a second time. Maybe I need to update the firmware, mine is a version 2, about 1 year old and bought at a time when there was no TIME logo on the packaging.

QUOTE(Andy72 @ Apr 9 2016, 07:01 PM) Since you were using your TPlink with unifi previously, your router is still probably using unifi profile with vlan tagging. You need to unselect this feature to use the router with TIME. When I tried doing a more "cleaner" setup, my router would not exept a NULL value for the VLAN tagging. All PPPoE profiles are required to have the tags. As far as I could tell. I tried the "other PPPoE service provider" option in the router when setting it up

QUOTE(ralyon @ Apr 10 2016, 10:51 AM) You don't need to setup VLAN for TIME. Go to "Quick Setup", you should see following options, choose Normal mode and then continue with the rest of setup process. Normal Mode - You don't have applied any IPTV or VOIP service Unifi Mode - You have applied TM Unifi service Maxis Mode - You have applied Maxis Fiber service Other Mode - You have applied some other ISP's service which should be configured with VLAN information. Then go to Network -> WAN and setup as follow: WAN Connection Type: PPPoE/Russia PPPoE Secondary Connection: Disabled Wan Connection Mode: Connect Automatically Sorry for a very late reply. After updating my TP-Link to the latest firmware, it worked right after completing the installation wizard. No problems there. However I feel my 5Ghz is very unstable with this firmware. I quite often lose connection and go on the 2.4Ghz instead. 5Ghz cannot find until I restart the router. For now I'm using the Dlink provided by Time...

When I closed my UniFi account, they didn't want to take back the HyppTV box. The guy even told us some customers that changed to Maxis fibre can continue to use it. Right now I have the HyppTV box at home collecting dust.
Does anyone have experience using back a HyppTV box using Time fibre? Not sure whether Time supports IPTV or not.

Hi, I want to upgrade my router (using std D-Link provided by TIME) and wonder if there is anything in particular I should consider?
Do I need to configure the VLAN IDs i.e. get a unifi/maxis supported router?
Am currently eyeing TP-link C9 or C2600 and wonder if they support TIME fibre broadband. There is no info about this on TP-link website. I currently subscribe to the 100Mbps package using PPPoE.
Any insight to this is highly appreciated!

QUOTE(SilentForever @ Nov 6 2016, 07:18 PM) Last time when I wanted to buy router also consider c9 but due to its looks I decided not to. The c7/c5 looks is better and the ac5400 and ad7200 also have better looks. The 2600 and 3150 just urgh. Both of the routers u ask support TIME. Well, I don't care so much for the looks of the router. I'm more interested in the specs. Looks like I'm going for the C2600 due to the more powerful CPU and the MUMIMO feature. Thanks for letting me know both routers are supported tho Cheers
