I am Astro IPTV user with TIME. stuck with the mediocre speed and cannot upgrade. I so so so so so wanted to upgrade but dont know what sorts of alternative I have.

1. How to configure TV Box so that my mum can continue watching her sports channel, TVB Drama Series and 8TV? My dad loves Golf and also Documentary. If I were to switch back to Astro Sattelite, raining how?
2. Do I have to pay penalty for terminating IPTV?

I am not getting the maximum value out of the dollar that I pay now. Some advice will be great.

Sign up for Time at 100Mbps RM149
Sign up for Netflix HD RM42 (RM33 without HD)
Total = RM191

You get 100Mbps and much, much more Movies and Drama than Astro.
Also on demand, whenever you feel like watching, instead of following their schedule or having to record

With Astro Superpack 4 and 10Mbps you will pay more than RM270.
How ??
Only thing lacking is Sports, but (on the dark side) there is subscription to DirectTV ( https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...6313&hl=netflix )

Cut Astro off ! Let them wake up as they have been fleecing us all this while.

** Only problem will be getting TVB Drama

Thats the thing. My parents already familiar and hooked to Astro. Do i need a TV Box to subscribe to Netflix? What about iFlix? One more thing is to switch to Satellite version of Astro lor but raining cannot watch and my parents will scream at me everytime it rains.

Thats the problem with Astro. Their business practice resemble Maxis - no thoughts of their existing subscribers. Only when customers start leaving and the matter becomes viral on the internet then they wake up.

I also called them for nearly a month. Standard reply - "In discussion...."
Ask them how long need to discuss, they replied unsure but in discussion....

I don't think they understand the meaning of the word discussion.

Not easy to give answer for your situation. If don't want Satellite reception then it's either stick to AstroIptv or those Android Box for illegal Astro.
As for Netflix, its already available in Malaysia legally, just go to their website to subscribe.

Totally agree. I had a chat with TIME fella and they said its Astro who is unable to provide the upgrade for their IPTV Clients. If we are under the 10mb plan, then maximum that the Astro Box can handle is 30mb. I really dont understand what that means. All these while I though the faster the speed, the better it can stream right? Why limit to just 30mb is beyond my imagination.

HI Bro,

It depends on the type of TV Box, not worry much, usually the seller will configure for you or include step by step instructions for you to get it up running.

Prorated of RM2400 penalty applies.

Rm2400 penalty? What is this... I have been using IPTV for quite some times already. Still got penalty?

With the new budget stating that all land broadband provider to increase their speed at the same price starting Jan17, i wonder whether those who subscribe now will lose out.
