How stable is time fibre? I am interested in getting it but scared reading the line is not stable and cannot get full speed?

Any promotions right now if I were to install time?

Hello all,

Just installed Time 300MB. To connect to my laptop, I used Aztech Homeplug which is rated up to 500MB. Whenever I connect to my laptop, either by using the homeplug or wireless (2.4G or 5.0G), the max speed I am getting in speedtest is no more than 24MB. Which is no faster then unifi. Even when using my phone, wireless 2.4G I only get uo to 95MB but when I connect to 5G then I get 300MB.

Is there something wrong here? Surely I should be getting better speeds at least with my homeplug wired connection. Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

Aztecs HomePlug is rated to 500Mbps, but powerline is very sensitive to electrical noise. I suspect that you are either on three phase wiring or there is significant electrical noise on your electrical line, which is affecting the speed on your homeplug. 2.4GHz is full of interference and congestion. 5GHz is better. See here: https://www.howtogeek.com/222249/whats-the-...should-you-use/

Thanks. That made sense. I didnt expect powerline can transmit at such a low speed even with noise.
Still doesnt explain why my WIFI connection to the laptop still around 20MB eventhough it is capable 10 times that speed.

Hi,

If I havent seen your settings, the best guess is to remove your Unifi VLAN settings in your Router.

* Assuming you got your TIME PPPOE login credential all correct.

You sir, is a life saver. Thanks for suggestion. I got my Asus router to work!
