Hi all, I have just installed TIME 100Mbps in my apartment. So far the speed is not bad. However, I can't get the uPnP to work properly, and even on port forwarding it's still not functioning properly.

Therefore, my plex home server is not able to function outside of my home network sad.gif anyone can help me with this? I'm using the stock TP Link Archer C1200 router provided by TIME.

changed my default gateway to 192.168.1.1 instead of 0.1 due to my server and other existing things already running on that gateway. DHCP server is not by router but by my server instead, which I have not encountered any problem so far yet.

Hi,

Let me help you to take a look.

Which firmware version are you on ? You may email me at support@timefibre.com

Thanks.

Hi, thanks for your concern!

However.. the issue magically fixed itself.. or I'm just really not sure which of the steps i did fixed it.
Either way, it's fixed! Hope no error from now on!

My advice to you is just to chuck the TP Link Archer C1200 and get another router, preferably Asus, or the TP Link Archer C7 v4, or the top-end TP-Link routers, which is much better than the C1200, which has multiple problems.
*
Thanks for your advise. One step at a time xD Thinking of getting an Asus AC1200.

Hi, ever since I installed TIME ive been gettin frequent disconnects (globe turns red out of no where). Restarting the router and modem does nothing to solve it sometimes.

Hi,

If you are using the TP-Link Archer C1200 stock router, then this is a known issue (Intermittent Disconnection).

TP-Link is currently working for a patch on this.

Thanks.

I thought that was for reboots.
Either way, I’ve installed the unifi firmware on it. Will see how it goes. I’m a time user with unifi branding on my SSID now 😂

Hi, is it possible to set PPPoE on the modem itself? the one that has the fibre connection.
Getting fed up with the AC1200 provided by TIME, and would like to run the wireless direct through my ubiquiti AP.

Mind to share what is your major issue on TP-Link AC1200? Hang few times per day?
*
Frequent disconnection, my uptime ranges from 2 hours to 1 day. Won't reconnect unless i manually reboot the router. Majorly reported issue among AC1200 users

Damn, my contractor charged me RM200 installation fee, which I blindly paid. That means its 40m of fibre? Just from riser into my house... Contractor did not tell me the rate and how it's charged, just told me the price. Five Stones Condominium

From Riser ---> Your Door Step (Point of Entry) = NO Charge

From Your Door Step (Point of Entry) ---> Dropping point of the ONU = First 20m FREE, subsequent RM10/m

A Rate Card must be shown to you prior to Installation.
* The above refers to Standard Installation (Surface)
*
I see, I was not shown a rate card before installation.. The contractor just said "should be around RM300"

I'm still on 100Mbps as of now, but not sure why recently I've been getting worse speeds (D:80Mbps, U:60Mbps), and latency around 20ms. compared to previously same PC same location (it's a tower PC afterall), where I can get 100+ down and up, and less than 5ms latency.

Getting a lot of spikes while playing dota too bangwall.gif

I'm currently on 300Mbps plan. Waiting to be upgraded.

What you guys thinking about "Asus RT-AC86U" router? Thinking to get one to replace old dlink router.

I read some reviews said that router is very good. Is that true?

Thanks.

Heard lots of great things. Won't go wrong with Asus

Dual band but diff standard, N vs AC smile.gif

“WiFi is always promoted using 'theoretical' speeds and by this standard 802.11ac is capable of 1300 megabits per second (Mbps) which is the equivalent of 162.5 megabytes per second (MBps). This is 3x faster than the typical 450Mbps speed attributed to 802.11n”
*
all these network jargons are very very confusing and I believe a lot of these companies use these to market their products.

Anyways, 802.11N also supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz, but 802.11ac is the latest technology that supports higher speeds (due to multiple factors that is too lengthy to explain here).

But as a guideline, newer routers should have their standard and "Total speed" part of their name now, for example AC1200, AC1900, AC2300.
AC denotes the standard, and the number behind is the total theoretical achievable speed on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz combined. Higher the number, better the performance.

Still waiting on the speed upgrade so I can test my router + AP. I'm using my old Asus router and connecting it to a UBNT Unifi AC AP LR which has 2x2 MIMO on the 5GHz band. Will see if it can achieve a good speed and only decide if i should upgrade my PC to a TPLINK T9E. want to pull a LAN cable but not that feasible for me.. sad.gif

Hi guys, switched back to the C1200 router since my old router can't support gigabit ethernet.

Is the constantly rebooting / non connecting problem with the c1200 still persist?
