Thanks to yeapch01 , I am able to switch from Astro to Time by giving 1 month termination notice to Astro. Supposedly the switch starts on 26th Apr but Time technician called me for earlier switching.

Using the same fiber and swapping old GPON with new one and also the DLink DIR-850L, I am able to ride the 300Mbps wagon.

Speed improvement is significant, video streaming is started just a snap of fingers.

HI bro,

The DIR850L did you adjust any settings or are u using the defaults? Im having only 7Mbps speed on the 300MBPS line.
*
I did no changes to the DLINK Dir-850L supplied.

1 question to you:
Does your pc/laptop has a Gigabit ethernet port?

Old PC/laptop got up to 100Mbps port only. And theoretically reach 7Mbytes/sec for 100Mbps port is pretty doable.

A gigabit ethernet port + Cat5e/Cat6 and direct connect to the router will reach 300Mbps (or 30MByte/sec) easily.

Hi Bro,

Connect your Fortigate WAN interface to LAN1 of the Huawei ONU...

In your FW WAN connection profile, create PPPOE connection with the given Username & Password.

Thanks.
*
The Huawei GPON device is remotely managed by TIME.

It converts optical input so that we are able to connect via PPPoE and make phone call.

Hi guys,
Just to inform you all, TIME does support IPv6.
Just configure your D-Link DIR-815L to share PPPoE session with IPv4, you will get the IPv6 internet access.

Proof of TIME IPv6

I think the IPv6 connection on Time fiber seems acting up lately.

I could not connect via IPv6 anymore and has to revert back to IPv4.

HI Bro,

May I know what seems to be the problem ? We have no problem connecting using IPv6 here.

Thanks.
*
DLINK Dir-850L supports IPv6 connection with TIME.

TIME does not assign IPv6 address through DHCP and thus I do not have any IPv6 WAN address. Also this makes all DNS lookup through IPv6 is not possible.

ur ipv6 setting is it follow setting i show?
*
Yes... but if you put "Obtain a DNS server address" at the IPv6 DNS setting, you will not get TIME's IPv6 DNS server address. The only possible option is to put Google IPv6 DNS addresses only.

And from time to time, the IPv6 connection will fail and restart the router will get no public IPv6 address from TIME.

You may have to retry a few times to get the public WAN IPv6 address from TIME but again no DNS server.

The ping on others ISP are not affected its just TIME. i've said it before already TMNET and Maxis not affected. The ping on peak hour and non peak hour is the same, i've been saying the routing has changed and has made the latency worse than before. I sent 2 tracerts to TIME to clearly illustrate that. Its been more than a week now and this issue isnt resolved.
*
Mind to share your game server IP address that you are connecting to?

I had bad experience with TIME bad routing to Counter Striker Source servers located in SG.
The root cause is the server host provider does not connect to local IX exchange and causing packets routed to and fro Hong Kong.

However, when I highlighted to TIME that I see this boomerang routing issue by showing how the connection routed, they fix it immediately.

Of course, jjj2 and yeapch01 had helped me to expedite the issue.

13 228 ms 228 ms 228 ms ten-0-5-0-0.cor01.syd04.nsw.VOCUS.net.au [114.31.199.37]

The packet reached SG then go to HKG then go over Pacific to LA then Palo Alto then San Jose (the whole Silicon Valley) and then go over Pacific (again) reaching New South Wales (Australia). thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

yeapch01 and jjj2 should help escalate this routing issue for you.

my owner is a 300mbps subscribers.
We always facing network congested issue la... especially peak hours (after work hours)
even dota also can laggy....ping result always spiky....

and worst to come the neighbour blame us slow them down and asking owners to opt us out...
lol....300mbps share to 6 users will slow o....no downloads...only gaming
my home 10mbps for unifi can run IPTV and 6-7devices.....
*
I don't think it is TIME issue.

You need a very capable router to handle the load.

Any idea what is the use of the other LAN port on the ONU? Connected LAN1 to the WiFi router, so the other LAN2-4 can be directly connected for other devices as well? My router ports have been fully utilized. Kindly advice, thank you.
*
I switched to TIME from Astro IPTV.
Basically, you will see LAN1 is connect to your router while LAN4 is connect to your Astro decover.
This is like VLAN setup where Astro video streaming bandwidth will not eat into your allocated Internet bandwidth.

I switched from the TIME provided DLINK DIR-850L to Mikrotik hAP AC.
https://routerboard.com/RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT

Don't take the Mikrotik hAP AC Lite because it has 10/100 port only.

The router is very good and stable, enjoy good support and frequent firmware updates. rclxms.gif
