Got my 500 Mbps upgrade, and speedtest with TP-link Archer AC1200
Uplink - 510 Mbps
Downlink - 486 Mbps

I thought someone says AC1200 cannot reach 500 Mbps?

Nope, even 5GHz also around 300Mbps max.

In your theory that mean all gigabit routers can reach WAN speed 1000Mbps thru wired? I doubt so
WAN speed is so dependent on the router chipset.

I use Asus Rt-N66U my speed is only 150mbos. But when use back stock router from Time ac1200, my speed is 490mbps. Why different speed on different router?

Hi, your Asus RT-N66U is using wireless N technology.
As the C1200 is using AC which can achieve more speed.

N router is outdated.
AC is a new technology which can achieve more speed.

I'm contemplating whether I should buy a new gigabit switch for my network.
I got the free AC1200 router from TIME recently so I think I should be able to get the speed upgrade.
Maybe I should wait for official announcement first before buying new switch.

The thing is I have to buy 2 switches   
1 to extend the cable and the other for multiple PCs.

RT-AC5300 (Main Router), RT-AC88U (Media Bridge) --> Media Bridge UL > 900Mbps, DL < 750Mbps

Both ways I am getting same result. So rule out hardware problem. Could be because of the interference from my neighbours for the main router. I can only think of that explanation.

I'm getting 500Mbps on LAN via 100Mbps plan.

350 Mbps nearest to the router.
150 Mbps in the room.

So far still good, in the room normal surfing usage only.

You're using 300Mbps or 100Mbps

If 100 --> 500
If 300 --> 1000
If 500 --> 1000

You know what, after my last reply my internet was down immediately for 5 minutes. Then I directly call the CS and after few cycle of restarting the modem/router, BAAM! I got my 500Mbps speed

Well, as suggested on TIME server itself. Earlier seem like the TIME server was missing that why I use another server, but I tried again and saw the TIME server.
Can get about 840Mbps was good enough for me. So, do the 300Mbps upgraded to 800Mbps or 1Gbps?? Hmmm

Anyone interested to connect LAN cable can try out UGREEN CAT7 cable. Really good and reliable speeds.
