Forumer you are complaining against: Harrie

Item being sold/bought: Sony Xperia Z3 Copper

Original thread link: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=3910844&hl=

Date of transaction: Friday, 1/4/2016

Details of the complaint : This appears as a record, or as a query about the postage transaction.

Contacted via whatsapp, and eventually paid rm 950 for the > 1 year old Xperia Z3.
Paid on Friday evening, 1/4/16 and seller posted the item next day, Saturday.
Received from Poslaju today, Monday lunch time.

Parcel was well wrapped with newspapers and gift paper. Pic 1 and Pic 2.

Aftger work, I got home and power on the Z3.
Found that the Top Left part of the keyboard was not responding, and I cant type the letters "W", "2" at all. Different alphabet came out.
I tried out with Google and Touchpal keyboards, and the results are the same ... cant get to type on that specific area.

Pictures show normal and landscape use of Google and Touchpal keyboards. The Exact parts (circled) were not responding (i cant get to lowyat.net because i cant type the"w", lol)

Contacted the seller Harrie and he assured me that the Z3 was functioning well and had no such problem at all.

I took it to the shop and the guy said most likely its the ribbon/touch screen issue.

Now I am in a dilemma. Seller sounded sure of the phone's good condition, but i cant use it at all for texting and googling.

I am wondering what went wrong? It is the Poslaju that broke the phone? Did I do something wrong to break it? Or, the seller is not telling me about it?

LATEST: -
Phone is repaired...refer to POST 62 please. Thanks.

Seller's photo and address are posted here.

bro, agree with you. I thought trusting a regular seller is good enough.
the screen has problem, as I had been using different ways to test it.

fyi, this seller isn't even trusted trader.

all his old threads are closed with no customer feedback, and he edited out all the first posts so that there is no trace for any dispute. most fishy sellers do this. be cleverer next time.

all mobile shops want to sell lemon units as its easy money, but its hard to sell in physical shop if consumer inspect everything before purchasing, but online? easy, just show some pictures, do postage, then get money and send out the lemon, then gg, no need care, just pretend and insist that its working 100%. edited out the post and ggwp. no nid care much.

all you can do?

post his name and bank numbers and show in scammer alert, and careful trading as his mobiles are mostly lemon units.

the chance that the mobile phone could have a broken part in the touch screen is less than 1 percent that it is damaged during the postage process. so you can rightly believe it has to be the case that it is already broken before shipping out. Only idiots will believe the sellers who he claims that its working 100% when it has problem on receiving.

Just had a screen diagnostic, and the result shows that the left section (same as the part that I cannot text on the keyboard) cannot draw any lines over it. It means that this left section is 'dead' ?

There's nothing you can do if the seller doesn't want to refund you. All you can do is post up his information here to alert future buyers. See that he changes his mind .

Thanks bro.
1. He deleted his selling remarks. But the second post (reply by interested buyer in which he cant delete) can see that he DID NOT state his unit 'Condition'.

2. My phone shop tole me the same : Poslaju might break the sceen, or break the phone into 2 parts, but cannot SPOIL a large part of the screen in this way (screen and digitizer rosak).
Actually I dont mind to receive a crack screen or a physically broken phone as the postage process might spoil it, but NOT a spoilt screen that I cant text on it !!!.

Yes, you are right, only idiots believe that the poslaju can spoil a phone this way. We are not born today !

Thanks again for your effort in replying bro.

Hard reset also cannot resolve it. Downloaded the apk file for calibration also cannot resolve it.
Did few software updates, also cannot resolve it.
A lyn shop asks for rm 400 to get a new original screen n ribbon !!!
Sigh ....

Thanks bro

I am somehow reluctant to post his info, becauase seller kept assuring and telling me that his unit is 100% functioning. I am having all his whatsapp messages. I recall that he was in a hurry and insist to sell and post to me on Saturday (Poslaju) even though I said I could wait till next week. Emm. bit fishy here.

But after reading all the I shd post I think I shd post as much info as I can this morning.....It takes a long while to compile the messages .... Thanks.

if he doesn't want to admit it, then so be it. That's the catch with online purchases. Sometimes you lose out. If I'm the seller here, even tho I know my device has no problem before shipment, I will try my best to assist the buyer, even refunding the buyer if need be. Because my reputation is at stake here.

Bro I don't think you should post his pictures bro. It's just a small issue. What if the seller is telling the truth here, that the phone was working fine before postage. Shipping is at the buyer's risk unless stated by the seller. Hope you can work it out with him.

agree with you bro Victorian. this is a smaller issue, and it would be most unkind to post his pic.

btw, he said the Z3 was working 100%, in which i beg to disagree. the screen is lagging, and it takes quite some effort (about 4-5 times) just to drag a short cut icon to the removal dustbin.
