Hi, need your recommendation for a good Asus Wireless Router. smile.gif

My family just upgraded to Unifi 30 lately and we found the existing wifi router is bad with poor coverage.

Based on the floor plan I draw, these are the current wifi coverage that I manage to receive with the existing Unifi wifi router with the modem mark X.

Would anyone please recommend which Wifi Router should I get to boost up the wifi coverage for all three rooms with budget less than RM500? Primary use for Online Gaming, Torrent, IPTV, FB, Youtube, Surt Net.

**These are the model I found: RT-N12HP / RT-N14UHP / RT-AC1200HP / RT-N18U

Thank you. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Checkout the RT-AC55UHP... You'll get Dual-band wireless-AC1200... Price's around your budget.

Thanks for the suggestion ==> RT-AC55UHP , but it is slightly above our budget RM500, my bother will not agree with it. sweat.gif
I shall try to persuade him to get this Wifi router, else I have to stick with RT-N18U or RT-N14UHP.

Or you could get a WiFi range extender which is a cheaper option.
*
Are you refer to get a repeater, something like this in Asus official website?
My family prefer to get a better wifi router rather than repeater

hi guys would anyone know when can we apply for unifi once they fixed them fiber boxes on the phone poles?

cuz i see that in my area they completed fixing the boxes already  not sure when can go apply lol tongue.gif

For my case, it took two months for me to get Unifi after TM setup fiber box near my house. doh.gif
I rang TM for Unifi package just after the fiber box was ready, but they unable to find my home address in their system, I was told be patient and wait for good news. sweat.gif

Try follow-up with TM and ask them directly. smile.gif

It's just a few extra RM.. Eat ramen noodles for a day or 2 & can make up the extra cost..  tongue.gif.  You folks need to accept that it's better to spend slightly more to get a much better router than stay under budget.. A good router is a solid investment that'll last for years, handling multiple devices & connections.. Do not skimp on such.

why tm send me new adapter for unifi? doesn't give any letter or manual also. sent by citilink courier.
*
This is part of the "Unifi Improvement Program" to replace power adapter for Alcatel-Lucent BTU.
Did you receive any letter from TM about this?

I think TM is now making offers selectively to existing Unifi customers. A friend of mine recently got called with an offer for FREE upgrade from his existing 5mb to 30mb with all existing HyppTV, free 600 mins calls intact. No strings attached, no contract moratorium
*
Free upgrade from 5Mb to 30Mb with HyppTV package + 600 minutes call? ohmy.gif
Price remain the same 149 (exclude GST) and no contract? ohmy.gif
Wow... that's great! drool.gif

I'm currently on VIP5 and they called on Monday to offer upgrade to 30mbps, I agreed. However, until now I haven't seen any increase in speed. Still 5mbps symmetrical. How long does it take for them to apply the changes? I've already tried power cycling the router. Waiting 10 minutes before turning it back on. Any ideas?

What is the package they offer to you in order to upgrade to 30Mbps? confused.gif
About time to change your speed, why not give them a call would be much faster? hmm.gif

I got a call from 26015000 yesterday.

They offered me RM179 (excluding GST) for the following:-

1. Unifi Advanced 30mbps download/10mbps upload
2. Unlimited quota
3. HYPPTV pack (which I am not interested but need to take it anyway).
4. Free 600 minutes voice call to any land-line or mobile in Malaysia.

I am currently on RM149 VIP5 with 4 months to go before ending contract.

The thing is, they say that the offer price will revert back to RM199 after the 2-year promotional period.

I have not decided to upgrade yet.

What do you think?

This is the exact package offer for me and my friend that are still in VIP5.
I turned down the offer and stay with VIP5.
