Pentax K10D has in-body stabilization which, I've tried, works to 4 stops. This is cheaper than buying an IS or VR lens from Canon or Nikon.

Pentax has a load of OLD zoom lenses; you can find loads of them on the ground floor of Ampang Park, nearer McDonalds. You can use manual focus Pentax K-mount lenses as well.

I heard the Pentax 50mm F1.4 AF lens is under RM800! Most other brands will cost you RM1200-1300.

A 50mm F1.4 also means you can shoot in darker places with stabilization! The brightest wide by any other brand is the Canon 17-55mm F2.8 IS.

I don't know how easy it is to find a bright zoom (70-200mm F2.8). Pentax is well known for their exclusive pancake lenses, e.g. the 21mm F3.2 which is damn short and the 77mm F1.8.

Sony's implementation of in-body stabilization has a meter inside to show you how steady you are so you don't have to check the screen to see if there is blur. I don't have a Pentax K10D so I can't tell you how reliable the AS is.

pentax just announced their 200,300,60-250 with silent focusing .. no price, release date is 4th quarter this yr.

PENTAX-DA SMC 60-250mm F4 ED [IF] SDM is a good stuff as well , I remember I saw one of their lens plan ,their plan to come out 17-70mm and 70-300mm end of this yr /beginning of nxt year .

Anyway F2.8 and F4 smc lens ED(IF) with SDM is smtg which attract my eye sight a lot .

Since their 16-50mm F2.8 dnt have IS thingy hope tht will under RM2.5k lah ,dnt like Canon 17-55mm F2.8 IS USM so expensive lah (RM3.5k in US ,some more not L -.-)

If I remember, Canon won't call the 17-55mm F2.8 IS USM an L lens because it is not full frame.

Hooray to 60-250mm F4! That finally brings in the long-lost telephoto F4 range back in business (other than Canon's 70-200mm F4 variants.)

I'm deciding whether to get Pentax K10D (RM3,888) or Canon 400D (RM2,700)

As you see, the price difference, make a lot of impact, but I fell in love with the K10D's sexy body and nice to "grab", the feeling, so nice.

Though I haven't touch any 400D yet, but I think it won't feel as good as the K10D though.

I've decided to get the K10D, despite numerous attempts from my friend to go with cheaper body so can save the money for lenses and an acquiantance advised me to go with K100D.

Anyway, my purchase should be soon, hope it's within this or next week.
