yes, buy the car at 60k++, then another 20k convert to evo?

Well, that's quite true ... but it's now modifying car vs foreign car

Most people will go for foreign car though ...

if you're looking for a small size car like swift/jazz/yaris - just take myvi lo. yes it's more common and only slightly smaller but it's far cheaper.

if sedan then plenty of choice but note that vios/city are due for model change if they follow the normal honda/toyota 5yr cycle. sentra - this model very very very old already and it is overdue for replacement - but if you like it then it's ok. avanza - this is a small VAN from toyota, so if you dun mind driving a VAN ..... smile.gif. citra/spectra/bestari are all kia based cars and they dun have good reputation for fuel consumption and 2nd hand value, same with elantra.

so as you can see there are alot of choices but i would advise to hangon for awhile if you can - maybe there's another round of price cuts for afta but then the dealers are clearing 2006 stocks now so maybe there's some good discounts going around. tough decision sad.gif

so BooMer86, what does ur friend intend to use this new car for?

1) personal highway frequent travelling for business trip? FC & reliability is most important... (vehicle should be larger in saize for a more stable drive)
2) personal city drive to & fro from work? FC & maneuvourbility is important... (smaller car usually has the upper hand)
3) Family car (how many family members)? vehicle size is important

all these will actually determine the choice of car type in the 1st place...

Go ask about it at Si Khiong Star, Jln Sultan Ismail. They're giving 40k discount off for the 4/4 and -30k to the 4/2. Cheapest is the 1.3L MIVEC going for 65k.

Bloody good deal I tell ya. My apt building has 2 new 4/4's ever since this offer came about; all new registrations. And in Penang, at least 30 Smarts have been sold thanks to this. Can you imagine Smart sales beating Proton? sweat.gif

u need cash to buy those cars. 10 years old car very hard to get loan, if not the interest rate will scare u off. if more than 12 years old, cant loan from bank.

for joking... yes... but if back to reality, Honda/Toyota still win in terms of established service centers, parts are easier to come by, even more non-official workshop has better know-how to repair...
