Dear all,

I just bought a condo with my gf. The loan is solely on my name but i put both my gf name n i in the property. So, shit happen. After few months, we break up. Now the problem. What can i do to transfer back the property to me ? My ex gf agreed to this but i just dunno how to proceed. Is an additional legal agreement valid for this matter ? btw, the condo is still under construction if this is an useful info for this matter.

Sorry, since property is still undercon, you cannot refinance or change the SPA, you will have to pay whatever loan interest until property is fully completed then only can change the SPA and refinance the property to ur name.

Lesson learnt ?

Well.... it's not a dead end actually. If your ex agrees for the transfer now, you can actually do a Settlement Agreement now and then have all the necessary assignment documents signed in escrow and deposited with the solicitors as stakeholders so once the property is ready for vacant possession, have the solicitors do the necessary assignment immediately but of course, you'll have to pay the costs for the stamp duties and stuffs.

This way, there's no need to worry for your ex to change her mind 1 or 3 years later.

Yep.... never ever repeat my mistake even though both of u have been together for long time. For my case, 8 years.
