I was wondering is there any thread limit? I mean like how many threads a person opened can remain active at the same time.

I feel its getting annoying to see those people bumping all their threads at the same time in the trading forums. One person can cover one and a half page of the sub-forum. I suggest you guys set a limit. It would ease a lot of other sellers.

I'd support the idea of implementing a thread limit too
Limit per section should work best, for the trade zone i mean

Those with 10+ threads are obviously making a business out of it

Some threads cant be merged especially with the super long posts in the thread. The thread will become meaningless with all the confusing posts around.

Yes some threads cant be merged since the first post will be scattered

And if there's no rule to limit threads in the first place, it wouldnt be fair to slap them with a warning

But if you set a limit there, then those who really have lots of things to sell how ar? That wouldn't be fair to them as well would it?

As i've said, most of those with that many threads are running a business out of the forums which is not allowed in the first place, so there's no unfairness there
But even if it isnt so, why would it be unfair?
We're not saying u cant sell your stuff, just post them under the same threads

garage sales are mean for selling used stuff, instead many seller are doing business over there. perhaps they should be charged since it's they are using a free resources to make $$$.

since its garage sale, it doesnt matter whether it is used or new ones...after all, d name itself explains it all...i dun see any problem in where they r using d forum 2 run their business...plus, d prices r also waaaayyyy reasonable compared 2 real shops which in one way or another benefits us d forumers..no?

LYN doesn't allow business in the first place.

Second, they don't need to pay rental like real shops.

Third, who ever said anything about not letting them sell?

Fourth, then I post one hundred threads in garage sale/bulk and I bump it at the same time. The stuff I sell is rubbish, nobody interested in. What will you think? Its basically annoying.

For garage sales, I totally agree..
Since the items you sell are per item... put them all in the same thread. Don't open thread after thread after thread selling 1 item each.
Bulk orders is a bit harder to control I guess..
It's not like garage sales where u sell, u finish, and no more is left.
There may be orderlists, next bulks and stuff..
And if u reli have as u said 100 items that ppl are interested in, combining them in 1 thread will make everyone reading it have a headache.

I don't agree, cause the seller and combine into one thread and post the products on the first page. Everyone only need ot look at the first page ma.

Yeah, but that many items u are selling, lets say this guy sells logitech items + hdd + gc..
Imagine the amount of words not to say pictures that need to be read thru to find the thing u wanna buy.
Then how bout the thread name? For the stuff u wanna bulk and waiting for MOQ, u get ppl's attention with the thread name and stuff... Then if u have quite a few items waiting for MOQ? What would make ppl attentive to your thread?

Its something we have been looking at for some time. Haven't quite decided on a workable and fair solution yet though.

For a start, cooperation from members would be great - if you have 2 largely similar items to sell, do put them together.

Basically that won't normally happen. Why can't you just merge those that aren't waiting for MOQ and those that are waiting for MOQ on a seperate thread?

For example, your buying logitech, creative and intel from the local distributor. Merge it into a thread and put a title like computer parts, logitech, creative etc!.

at the same time your importing stuff from usa like sanyo for example. Put that item on a saperate thread should work fine. Its almost impossible for a person thats importing stuff to open like 10 threads together because its impossible for one person to manage it properly.

Good suggestion here.I'm also supporting this. There is few sellers in Garage sales section open multiple thread which they can merge and put it under one thread.

Guess someone talking about bussiness & money making over here and he also did or doing it now.

Business and making extra income is not quite the same I guess. If a explanation on this is required I'll be happy to explain to the mods(privately).

Anyway, this is not only about garage sales but also about bulk order section.

What about limiting the amount of threads a person can bump within a certain amount of time? This way they can open as much threads and not cover up the rest. Best of both worlds?
