Anyone noticed that the Maxis connection and speed is more stable now?
At least at my area, especially at night, the speed now is at least 2mbps compared to 1 month ago where it is usually 300kbps only. I think there are only 2 possibilities : 1) More people is moving away from Maxis and start using YES? 2) Maxis has upgraded their network to handle the high demand? Anyway, I have no complaint over it |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 20 2010, 08:50 AM) If I get anything that around 300kbps I will start to do my complaint already. Usually it will be rectified quite promptly. No complain. Well, I did complained once, the technical group came back and said "No problem with the network" and case closed.Didn't bother to file any more complaint, though I am happy that the congestion issue is settled. |

How to know whether it is HSPA+ or just HSPA?
Will E1762 support or need other modem? |

Is HSD+UPA (From MDMA) = HSPA+??
What would MDMA show if it is HSPA, what about HSPA+? |

If that is the case, we won't able to recognize whether it is
HSPA or HSPA+. The HSPA+ that maxis going to offer will have speed of 10Mbps.... So, I am quite skeptical that we have HSPA+ already. |

I realized that the signal strength at my area has improved significantly.
Last time it was -89dBm (~42% signal strength), this week it improved to -71%dBm (~95% signal strength). I believed Maxis has upgraded their tower somehow. But...the congestion at night comes back AGAIN, and no longer good for surfing anymore, have to switch to streamyx at night. |

QUOTE(vez @ Apr 1 2011, 07:11 PM) only limited area got 42Mbps which is dual carrier HSPA+ Anyone knows what happened to Maxis plan to upgrade to HSPA+?http://www.u.com.my/faqs/42mbps-mobile-broadband-service hopefully if Maxis upgrade to HSPA+ network, existing unlimited plan will remain Seems that it is extremely quiet since Maxis announced their plan to upgrade back in 2009. Are they giving up on the plan? Because nowadays can't even find the webpage anymore about their 21Mbps HSPA+ |

Hi all Sifus, I am changing my USB E1762, so am thinking to go for 21Mbps Huawei UMG1831, or Sierra 306/308.
Those usb modem support up to 21Mbps HSPA+, do you think I am over kill by buying those modem for Maxis 3G usage? |

QUOTE(digilife @ Apr 15 2011, 02:28 AM) @digilife,Thanks for the info, but the modem you suggest is not easily available in the market. So far I see no seller selling in LYN. And since that no one use it, I am not sure whether Maxis multi sim is compatible or not. This post has been edited by leecwai: Apr 15 2011, 08:53 AM |

QUOTE(digilife @ Apr 15 2011, 09:03 AM) i strongly believe Maxis will challenge the local broadband market with the Single Channel HSPA first, ie the 21Mbps , infact we are surfing the HSPA framework now, if we hav the E372, i guess it will surpassed the 7.2Mbps barrier currently. i am thinking of getting the E372 to test Maxis via MDMA to chk our profile. |

QUOTE(digilife @ Apr 21 2011, 09:48 AM) I found it here : http://www.mudah.my/21Mbps+Huawei+UMG1831+...dem-9231052.htmBasically I have done all the testing at his shop before buying it. Added on April 21, 2011, 10:17 am QUOTE(iddbbi @ Apr 21 2011, 09:39 AM) Do your connection using Huawei UMG1831 have some lagging sometimes? So far I don't see any lag in the connection, but when the area is congested, the modem tends toAlthough I got nice speed with it compare to my previous CSL U1-TF, sometimes the connection are lagging. Btw, this is my speedtest this morning: ![]() switch to HSPDA - HSPA - HSPA+ frequently. Comparing to my Huawei E1762 which I can only get maximum speed of 3Mbps at my place during the morning, this new modem has justified its existence by giving me 5Mbps. Worth it!!
