I had never faced such issues at all even using Facebook app -- NO random reboot or sudden freeze since day one

That's strange. Try pattern and see. I m using pattern and need to swipe the pattern before i can unlock even from edge.

Just to check, did you enable screen lock using fingerprints or just swipe unlock? One my friend setup fingerprint but using swipe unlock.

Furthermore, did you enable any location service like setting your house as 'trusted place' in smart lock setting as suggested by one of the forumer few pages earlier?

only one place my phone hangs, when opening pictures shared in whatsapp... wait few seconds for it to load...

hit home button > Slide edge panel > open any app from edge > Hit back button

The hard plastic caused water mark. Should go for the silicon which have dotted to prevent that.

for random reboot/hang/force close etc,
can check logcat & find "FATAL" to see what causing it.

One way to identify is to uninstall your apps and reinstall back one by one to monitor the behavior of your phone's frozen. This is what I did during the olden days, but didn't face any issue with s7.

Another reason for freeze or hang could be due to some users install disabler pro and disable some core system service and affect the performance.

Only way I try. Turn off edge screen function.

I already done this. When i press any app on the edge panel i need to swipe my pattern to even access the app. Like WiLyi said, did u set a trusted place or device that is already auto unlocking your phone.

for those who into android programming punya, can use the android studio or eclipse to capture any abnormalities. just need to enable adb usb debugging from your phone then you can read all the stacktraces in android studio when the error occurs.

Factory or hard reset won't make it goes away. Bring your receipt to any Samsung store prove the phone is yours and tell them to format for you.

Yes I did installed PDP maybe that's the case.
