Defence was horrible, but Courtios doesn't really seems convincing either for this season.

Equaliser was down to oscar giving away the ball and west ham broke with speed. Yep poor marking from Iva and courtois can't even catch a cold these days.

But it all started from that one mistake. I'm going to be highly critical of oscar as he's been horrible,arguably from day one. Gets on my nerves when players with room to GROW and DEVELOP such as kenedy and RLC are kept out because good ol' oscar somehow casts this great illusion of being great which has worked on mourinho and now,guus.

Baffling. Can't get my head around it really. MOTM fabregas,by a country mile. The others...haih.

Too many chop and changes to the defensive line.

Started the season with Azpi, JT, Cahill, Iva. Then JT + Cahil partnership not working, turn to Zouma + JT. Then JT injured, Zouma + Cahill. Then Zouma injured, bcum Iva + Cahill. Now move back to JT + Cahill.

Look at last season. JT + Cahill thru out.

And also Courtois game time with the team is less this season, due to his injury mid season. Bego played quite a lot of match.

Miss the old golden triangle. Cech, JT, Carvalho.

No like I said. Decision to bring him on as a sub has no relevance to the decision to not start him. Completely different cases here. I'm not disagreeing with you that he should have started the game instead of Oscar. You questioned the decision/point of bringing him on yet it was immediately justified. The criticism should not have been "what's the point of bringing him on" because the point is to rectify the mistake you just mentioned, that he should have started but it doesn't mean the substitution is wrong, just that the mistake of not starting him shouldn't have been made in the first place.

Note that I'm in complete agreement that Oscar is overrated and shouldn't have started. A "lazy" Mata would still have been more productive than Oscar's overall output. Remember there was a time people thought Oscar>Coutinho?

no choice also. injury has hit out defense line pretty hard this season, esp when Zouma got a serious injury. he is our fastest CB.
JT + Zouma pairing is still the best, 1 focus on leading and positioning, the other focus on physical and speed. Courtious also not doing well this season, but defense always gotta look at the unit as a whole. not commanding enough as well for Courtios.

Mid: Fabulous from Fab, RLC needs matches and an identity, Mikel is ok, Willian needs to rest and refresh, y is oscar still playing???
Att: What happened to our strikers? We supposed to have Costa, Remy, Falcao, Traore, Pato. But without Costa our att MIA. Only once or twice Remy/Traore was in central striking position. Most of the time no attacking focal point

Can we just end the season and start discussing bout Conte and next season? If Conte is to use back his favourite 352. I prefer something like this.

Hmm okay yep u do have a point. Guess the utter frustration of watching chelsea (specifically oscar) makes me post some weird stuff sometimes. Apologies bro.

I guess I just wish RLC started and we might even have won the match,as exhibited by his dangerous runs into the box. He made 2 good attacking runs/movements,one resulted in a (debatable) penalty and the other left him with an unmarked shot in the box. That was within a space of 10 minutes,imagine if he got 45 or 90. But as always these things are subjective,he might've got 90 minutes and still have an atrocious game.

Yes Guus tried to rectify that mistake..but man he took his time doing it. The biggest consolation is it did have an impact (hence it wasn't pointless, as you said) , and hopefully he trusts him enough to give him more playing time.

p s: oscar must be an absolute beast in training,that's my only theory so far. Well I'd rather have kevin de bruyne who doesn't train as 'hard' (as infamously claimed by jose) but brings his A game during matchday. Enough of players who flatter to deceive, and I hope conte realises oscar's true 'ability' really soon.(preferably when the transfer window's still open)

Courtios is absolute not convincing at all this season. The two goals he leaked might be the cause of defender's mistake, but if that's Cech in between the post, he would've saved it.

Remy put on weight, he seem to have given up hope to stay in Chelsea. It's our fault for not giving more chance to him. Ba and Remy.

Seem like most of players in Chelsea squad are just playing for the sake of playing. No urge on winning like how we used to.
