I go out around 6.50am today morning, the traffic is slightly better than normal day, consider today is the first day of school this is consider quite smooth, anyway traffic around 7am for me is consider ok even before the school is open.

What is your suggestion?

Morning traffic exiting Sg Long still acceptable for me, with the opening SJKC Bdr Sg Long traffic will be getting better especially next year after Standard Four to Six also accepted by the school. The only worry is when Landmark 2 is VP and occupy three years from now ie year 2019 how it impact the traffic.

On paper with MRT complete and running from year 2017 onward, the traffic jam should significantly reduced PROVIDED that fee is reasonable and supporting package eg shuttle bus and parking lots are enough. For Sg Long folks we have 3 stations to choose, I am positive on this.

how to improve the traffic after bt9? who is happily camping together there this morning? Took me 1.5 hours to reach bangsar south ... hooray!

Jalan Sg Long consider very smooth when compared to GS Highway & East-West Link, it take me only 5 to 6 minutes to reach GS Highway from UTAR but happiness only last for few minutes, the jam start even as early as after Batu 11 toll.

But for me the most serious traffic jam is in East-West Link especially after the Shell/Petronas station all the way to PJ, today I am lucky come out early at 6.35am so that the jam is not that terrible, but still need almost one hour to reach Bangsar.

5 minutes from UTAR Sg Long to GS Highway

You need to wait quite long time in front of traffic light from BTHO to GS Highway, that road also used by Cheras Perdana folks.

LRT/Monorail has limited capacity did not link with each other well furthermore the shuttle bus, location of stations etc not up to the par.

MRT with much larger capacity and hopefully better supporting package and reasonable fee shall serve much better than LRT/Monorail.

I never think BTHO traffic is better than Sg Long but they have more choices eg to enter BTHO you can choose to exit at BMC/BTHO junction which is jam for sure on top of paying RM1.30 or enter via Cheras Sentral Plaza pass by Tmn road toll free or enter via Silk but jam if in rush hour.

The problem is LRT far from the residential area of numerous Taman in Cheras while MRT is near by.
