Saw this statement in their Maybank 2 Cards Premier page. The link is not working as of now.

"Kindly be informed that effective 15 April 2016, Maybank will be revising the TreatsPoints earning. Click here for more info."

I think they are going to cut down or take out point earnings for certain spending categories like what they did on other cards recently.

That broken link is giving me goosebumps.

Tell you all an open secret. HLB VI is now a good card for those who are affected by the latest MBB fiasco!

i think MBB know their game and is pushing the limit, well how many % of your spending are affected? I would say mine is less than 10%.

Their conversion to miles is still the best, though i really don't know how long more this will last judging by the rate they are reducing the benefit
*
What I know is my insurance and govt bills is RM25k pa. TNB is 8-10k pa . Following the changes, 80k TPs is heading for oblivion !

Astro and handphone bills considered utilities?
*
QUOTE(aspartame @ Mar 17 2016, 06:08 PM)
Also, is Unifi considered utility? Under maybank2u, I think it is. So what exactly does utilities include? Thanks
*
ASTRO is under Cable TV
Hand phone, TM and unifi is under Telco but it is interesting to point out that OCBC Titanium used to refer TM trnx as utility! So this is still very much everyone's guess for the moment

So means there is a possibility of approval with existing MBB card limit above 30 k eventhough minimum income not met?
*
Yup. They will either approve the application outright or will require some sort of a collateral, eg RM5k FD pledge for a card member with 25k CL.

guys, i've called the cust service to check on a few things.
They told me Telco such as telekom, maxis, p1 all is considered under utilities. When asked for black and white, say don't have b&w, it all depends on the code on the CC terminal.

Gawd, hate this kind of uncertainty. it's like playing jackpot when we're paying our bills. Strike jackpot, you get 5x. if not then it's x1.
*
From what I'm told, the impacted category for utilities will be MCC4900-utilities which affect water and electricity. Telco services with MCC 4814 is not affected.

My CL is at 20k. Is it still possible now to pledge FD and apply this card? Anybody did this recently?
*
Yes it is always possible to pledge FD to apply. Best you consult a card center for the amount to pledge.

*
Yes, you need to write to them if you have other Maybank credit card. Or try bringing your FD to card center for processing.

Maybank's treatment for their premium customers are getting quite bad nowadays.

I helped my spouse to apply for M2P via FD as we want to get the card ASAP for some expenses.

Put in FD early May, everything signed and deliver to them. Till today more than 2 weeks also no news.

When called in, was told a document was not signed. So much delay for such a simple matter sigh.

That letter can take up to 1 month to arrive ! rclxub.gif

QUOTE(herc @ Nov 21 2017, 04:10 PM)

I read from the other thread regarding cc forex rate, aint Maybank VI charge 1% (Amex 2.5%), n Ambank WMC is 1%? What make it better than Maybank VI?
*
For foreign trnx, using Maybank VI will incur a 1.25% fee by Visa Intl and a 1% fee by Maybank , making it a total of around 2.25%. Ambank WMC on they other hand , got a fee of around 1.2% so I suspect Ambank do not charge any fee on foreign trnx. Only MasterCard foreign trnx fee is applicable. So there is a benefit on both side, Ambank to the benefit of lower forex conversion, and Maybank to the higher TPs accrued.

Correct me if I'm wrong, M2P provide 5TP for each RM local as well rite? Just came across this card yesterday.
By logic, each RM spend on M2P cards will each you 1 EnrichMile. Is this correct?
*
QUOTE(terence_say @ Nov 22 2017, 04:57 PM)
M2P only provide 5TP for every RM spend locally if you are using AMEX Reserve card, VI card only give you 2TP for local spending.
*
Some M2P comes with Man Utd VI and on EPL match day MU happen to win the match, all the trnx on that day will be awarded 5TP/RM.

*
Just in case you did not realised the MUVI is better than the generic VI in the sense that any purchase with MUVI on the day Man Utd win a BPL match, you get 5xTPs instead of 2 .

Can share which card you using for air miles? I always thought m2p is the best miles earning card?
*
By default, M2P is the primary card to earn airmiles. The primary advantage is its ability to earn great airmiles on local spending using the Amex Resv which no other Malaysian cards could offer! As for foreign transaction, it is just as good, only that there are other cards in the business as well such as Ambank VI/WMC and RHB Premier VI. But of course, one have to spend a minimum 80k/pa to get AF waiver on M2P so most will probably stick to it to avoid paying RM848 .

QUOTE(djkeoni @ Mar 26 2018, 06:12 PM)
I believe the benefit can be summarised as follows:
M2CPremier: 5TP
M2CPlatinum: 5TP + 5%CashBack at weekends

Please correct me if I am mistaken? I suppose using the M2CPremier Amex for weekdays AND the M2CPlatinum Amex at weekends is the ideal in maximising TP collection and benefiting from cashback as well.

Anyone done/doing this perhaps?

Yes, I believe you are correct about 5x points for CIMB VI is for dining alone & spending overseas. Other times only 1x points. See: https://www.cimbbank.com.my/content/dam/cim...sa_INFINITE.pdf

CIMB Airmiles:
10,000 points = 1,000 Enrich
8,000 points = 1,000 AirAsia Big
*
Just to let you know, if you redeem airmiles, the TPs from M2C account does not qualify for 4770 TPs:1,000airmiles . This redemption is only for M2P cards only. Normal cards redemption rate is 10,600 TPs : 1,000 Enrich miles

*
There is no MCC code for online payment!! Eg. You pay TNB at the counter it’s MCC4900. You use kiosk also 4900. You pay online @mytnb or even UOB PayOnline also will end up with same MCC.
