QUOTE(alex_leo @ Mar 16 2016, 05:11 PM) Just called MBB to reconfirm, they said all cards under MBB is affected including MBB 2 cards Premier. is Visa Infinite affected? MBB 2 cards Premier will the be same as Maybank 2 Platinum Card. I notified them that it is confusing that it was not stated on the MBB 2 cards Premier, so the CS said will report this up and hope to see better version to avoid confusion. You may refer to the link below. http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/CVP-PlatCard.pdf petrol and utilities remain 2x or become 1x? |

for those AMEX usage only 10-30% affected, and if the amt not high, can continue stay with premier.
like my case is RM4k per mth in utilities, then getting a 10% cash back worth a lot. imagine if i apply it under my name, my wife, my parents name, 4x RM100 x 12mth = RM4,800 then getting another card for petrol, at least another saving RM700 per year. |

QUOTE(raist86 @ Mar 17 2016, 10:20 AM) in actual sense, our m2p card earning rate has dropped quite abit after factoring in all the categories that don't earn 5x on amex.... even VI don't give x2 on those categories anymore.. yes, if you value EM as RM0.10, then RM0.10/RM4.77 = 2%, still high la.the way i see it, it's like RM 4.77 to 1 mile... it's as good as increasing the redemption point requirement for m2p. but what if you value EM as RM0.05? then it becomes 1% cash back today, i just applied pbb visa signature 6%, and now otw to HongLeong for WISE 10% card |

foreign spending may not be 5x point.
i have many experience, pay customs duty at singapore, only earn 2x TP (mbb did stated that payment to gov body only get 2x TP) just 2 months ago, i reload my OysterCard at london, payment is to TFL (transport for london) a gov body, only get 2x TP. i did my tracking day by day, so i can tell this is true. |

formed a strategy, this is my own case
Utilities (TNB) roughly RM2.8k per mth, i save RM250 x 12mth = RM3000 per year RM100 - HLB WISE card, 10% for utilities max cap RM100 RM100 - HLB WISE card, 10% for utilities max cap RM100 (2nd card register using wife name) RM 50 - PBB Visa Signature, online spending 6%, max cap RM50 Petrol roughly RM 800 per month, by estimation i can save RM 40 x 12mth = RM 480 per year RM 20 - citibank cash back platinum -5% petrol cap RM20 RM 20 - uob one card platinum - 5% petrol cap RM25 weekend |

QUOTE(Augus7 @ Apr 2 2016, 05:37 AM) I think this whole travel insurance thing if we charge an airline ticket to the credit card is a sham. I have the Maybank2Premier, recently i missed a domestic flight and called them for insurance claim (flight replacement perhaps), but they only say for overseas flight. WTF man, it was not even mentioned in T&C It is stated in the policyhttp://www.maybank2u.com.my/iwov-resources...rtInsurance.pdf Read the section of missed connection. In fact, most of other card's insurance or travel insurance do the same. |

for my recent trip to europe, i used both amex and visa, to study which cards give better conversion rate.
The rate really uncertain, in London, sometime amex better, sometime Visa better. In europe, travel to Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam, Visa has better rate. side notes: now i realize we should avoid using AMEX for Gov related transaction because it only give 1x TP. i reload my Oyster card using both AMEX and VISA (pay to Transport for London, some kind of gov entity), VISA earning 5x TP, while AMEX only 1x TP. |
