So that means even 1x transaction ( insurance , utilities) will entitled to 5x if mu win?
*
Yes, u should get additional 4x.

Someone mention this long time ago. All transactions will get 5x TP (meaning additional 3-4x TP bonus) except for government transactions since they earned 0x TP

why does my statement show AMEX 4X. Reduced from 5x to 4x already?
*
4x is the bonus TP

the system coded to give 1x TP for Amex transaction with additional 4x bonus TP

Advice taken. I guess most of the votes here go to MUVI, I guess for the obvious reason. laugh.gif
Good to know. I hope to spend at least 70% with CC and the rest with cash.

Remeber to register for Maybank Visa contest as well.

https://www.maybank2u.com.my/maybank2u/mala...-japan0719.page?

Won RM100 cashback before for oversea spending campaign, so can consider partly offset the forex charges

Obviously the one keep complaining is not happy MBB not awarding top up big pay.

And they just joined MU VI bandwagon mid last year ‘utilising’ BigPay. Most ppl probably cheer when Ole was appointed interim and was winning almost all the matches

It took me 3 days to finish reading postings here since jul19! I was looking for substitute/ hacks to pay for utilities , govt related and e-wallet to earn the maximum tp.

I started with krisflyer amex to pay both utilities and govt related pymts. Then switched to transfer muvi to bp for utilities and govt when tiger bank revised then to 0tp for utilities and gvt related pymt.

Now ewallet also earn 0tp! How laaaa

I see no road now. Monthly i have rm20k to pay for these items. Any recommendations on how to maximise my rm20k monthly expenses for miles?
*
Utilities is 1x TP right? Then your only hope of 5x is when MU wins PL games...

Got it. They way it was advertised in their site very confusing. Was under the assumption both got 5x TP. It's a shame coz, I opted to use VI in SG Apple store instead of AMEX due to higher charges for AMEX. Does VI give 5x TP for Overseas tranx or still the 2x TP?

Will call up to change the card. I assume only the MUVI approved, the current VI need to be cancelled?
*
I got MUVI standalone initially, then only made a request switch to M2 Premier. They cancelled my old MUVI subsequently.

Most of us here are using MU VI to get the extra bonus TP (3-4x) for non-Amex local transaction, utilities, insurance and education. It was much easier to do so with BigPay previously until Maybank removes the reward/TP for e-wallet topup.

how much does 5x points worth in terms of % of cash back ?
*
58,000 TP = RM100 cash voucher

So, the cashback is only about 0.86%

4-5% is only when you redeem for air ticket, especially business class and above

How about for economy class ?
*
if u fly short haul like KUL-SIN, the value is like 3-4% only haha

Longer haul slightly better

KUL-NRT about 25,000 KF miles + RM85 taxes one-way

revenue fare is RM1215

so 25,000 miles = RM1130 ish or 4.5%

I believe Amex applies a higher forex exchange rate? Correct me if Im wrong but I learned this from here  blush.gif

You need to be aware of Agoda shady business when it come to forex

If MY hotel, will pay in RM. so using VI or Amex no different. So to be safe, use Amex.

If oversea hotel, you need to make sure that you pay in foreign currency.

For some transaction (especially Book Now Pay Later), Agoda might auto-convert the amount and charged you in RM. But obviously, the conversion rate they used will be worse than spot rate + fee

seriously because of u the info u guys shared here, I end up just paid for my economy class ticket

if I redeem, its about 0.048 per miles

just keep the points for biz redemption
*
Yes, business class redemption is more worth it, although you shouldn't be fixated on the value since you won't forked out that kind of money to travel business class normally.

Going to redeem my Eastern Europe trips flight with QR once my Asiamiles is credited

KUL-BUD - 70k miles + RM1.3k surcharge (one-way)

Revenue ticket cost RM13,878

Value about 0.179 per mile.

The revenue price of a one way ticket is always expensive.
Return ticket should cost abt the same or just slightly higher
*
Yes you are right. Pardon my noobness haha

140k miles return + RM2.6k taxes (return trip)

Revenue ticket is RM15,575

So value per miles is 0.093

Got some additional info on Qatar flights

Qatar Airways operates three daily flights between Doha and Kuala Lumpur and since July 2019 at least one of these flights has been offering the Qatar Airways Qsuites.

Here’s the schedule as it stands…

QR848 DOH 02:05 – 15:00 KUL*
QR852 DOH 08:50 – 21:50 KUL
QR844 DOH 19:30 – 08:25+1 day KUL**

QR853 KUL 02:25 – 05:15 DOH (Daily)
QR845 KUL 09:35 – 12:00 DOH (Daily)**
QR849 KUL 20:50 – 23:15 DOH (Daily)*

…and here’s when you can expect to see the Qsuites available on this route:

Flights QR848 and QR849 are currently scheduled to be operated by a 777-300ER with Qsuites between 16 October 2019 and 29 March 2020 inclusive.
**Flights QR844 and QR845 have been offering Qsuites onboard an Airbus A350-900 since 15 July 2019 and will continue to do so when they’re taken over by the larger A350-1000 on 31 January 2020. The schedule currently shows thses flights reverting to a non-Qsuite-equipped A350-900 from 29 March 2020.

The end of March signals the end of the Qatar Airways 2019/20 winter season so it’s entirely possible that one or more of these flights will again be scheduled to offer the Qsuites once Qatar Airways gets around to updating its schedule for summer 2020.

Usually I found Agoda give the best rate, but most of the time I use hotel.com if the rate is similar due to hotel.com reward scheme
*
Agoda rates are usually the best. I’m glad they even have Homes in their inventory.

Sometime similar properties can get very cheap than Airbnb
