QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 22 2019, 04:22 PM) Advice taken. I guess most of the votes here go to MUVI, I guess for the obvious reason. Remeber to register for Maybank Visa contest as well.Good to know. I hope to spend at least 70% with CC and the rest with cash. https://www.maybank2u.com.my/maybank2u/mala...-japan0719.page? Won RM100 cashback before for oversea spending campaign, so can consider partly offset the forex charges |

QUOTE(eshopez @ Sep 25 2019, 10:41 PM) It took me 3 days to finish reading postings here since jul19! I was looking for substitute/ hacks to pay for utilities , govt related and e-wallet to earn the maximum tp. Utilities is 1x TP right? Then your only hope of 5x is when MU wins PL games...I started with krisflyer amex to pay both utilities and govt related pymts. Then switched to transfer muvi to bp for utilities and govt when tiger bank revised then to 0tp for utilities and gvt related pymt. Now ewallet also earn 0tp! How laaaa I see no road now. Monthly i have rm20k to pay for these items. Any recommendations on how to maximise my rm20k monthly expenses for miles? |

QUOTE(roy_zu @ Sep 26 2019, 03:05 PM) Got it. They way it was advertised in their site very confusing. Was under the assumption both got 5x TP. It's a shame coz, I opted to use VI in SG Apple store instead of AMEX due to higher charges for AMEX. Does VI give 5x TP for Overseas tranx or still the 2x TP? I got MUVI standalone initially, then only made a request switch to M2 Premier. They cancelled my old MUVI subsequently. Will call up to change the card. I assume only the MUVI approved, the current VI need to be cancelled? Most of us here are using MU VI to get the extra bonus TP (3-4x) for non-Amex local transaction, utilities, insurance and education. It was much easier to do so with BigPay previously until Maybank removes the reward/TP for e-wallet topup. |

QUOTE(Jack128 @ Sep 30 2019, 06:19 PM) I believe Amex applies a higher forex exchange rate? Correct me if Im wrong but I learned this from here You need to be aware of Agoda shady business when it come to forexIf MY hotel, will pay in RM. so using VI or Amex no different. So to be safe, use Amex. If oversea hotel, you need to make sure that you pay in foreign currency. For some transaction (especially Book Now Pay Later), Agoda might auto-convert the amount and charged you in RM. But obviously, the conversion rate they used will be worse than spot rate + fee |

Got some additional info on Qatar flights
Qatar Airways operates three daily flights between Doha and Kuala Lumpur and since July 2019 at least one of these flights has been offering the Qatar Airways Qsuites. Here’s the schedule as it stands… QR848 DOH 02:05 – 15:00 KUL* QR852 DOH 08:50 – 21:50 KUL QR844 DOH 19:30 – 08:25+1 day KUL** QR853 KUL 02:25 – 05:15 DOH (Daily) QR845 KUL 09:35 – 12:00 DOH (Daily)** QR849 KUL 20:50 – 23:15 DOH (Daily)* …and here’s when you can expect to see the Qsuites available on this route: Flights QR848 and QR849 are currently scheduled to be operated by a 777-300ER with Qsuites between 16 October 2019 and 29 March 2020 inclusive. **Flights QR844 and QR845 have been offering Qsuites onboard an Airbus A350-900 since 15 July 2019 and will continue to do so when they’re taken over by the larger A350-1000 on 31 January 2020. The schedule currently shows thses flights reverting to a non-Qsuite-equipped A350-900 from 29 March 2020. The end of March signals the end of the Qatar Airways 2019/20 winter season so it’s entirely possible that one or more of these flights will again be scheduled to offer the Qsuites once Qatar Airways gets around to updating its schedule for summer 2020. |

QUOTE(digidigi @ Oct 1 2019, 08:13 PM) Usually I found Agoda give the best rate, but most of the time I use hotel.com if the rate is similar due to hotel.com reward scheme Agoda rates are usually the best. I’m glad they even have Homes in their inventory.Sometime similar properties can get very cheap than Airbnb |
