hello bros, just got my self a hd660s, just wondering if all 600's family all have laid back vocal/voice?

1)I'm coming from a hd515, I found this 660s main vocal were pretty muffled/ laid back or not as bright/lively/forward when compare with the 515.  Pretty much all my flac track sounded that manner with this 660s.

2) Dav koz sax tracks such as [yesterday] sounded shitty AF when compared with 515, even my cheap ATH e40 could reproduce better sounding sax.

3) Mariah Carey tracks, vocal were like as per mentioned above.

3) Staging narrow and not as airy/ wide as 515. There's some slight suffocating feel with this 660s. feels like you are in a very small room.

The only stuff that I would consider upgrade is the bass, bass are tight and higher level of instrument details can be heard.

Player : Foobar2k
EQ : Flat , all other enhancement off.
DAC : Creative USB SB1240 24bit/96k
AMP : Topping A50S , 515 connected to 6.3 jack, 660s connected to balanced jack.

I'm having slight regret for getting "pajeeted" by those youtube review. should had throw the cash on crypto instead doh.gif

If you prioritize vocal performance, then hd660s is the wrong headphone already. Hd650 which has higher treble than hd660s also sound muffled to me when it comes to voice. It's also possible the thicker mids are masking the voice making it sound muffled.

Hd600 has the most natural voice. Especially smooth when paired with tube amp or certain solid state amp.

But give the hd660s some time. You may end up liking it. It's gonna sound good on other genres and you may find your music taste changing with the headphones.

Yea most of the 6 series tonality are a bit laid back, but to me i find the vocals more forward compared to their bass/treble. Their bass & treble are a bit rolled off, so if you want something energetic, bright and fast then most of the Sennheiser headphones are not for you.

Thanks for the input guys.
after a sleepless night trying to fiddle the eq based on 660s freq response chart. Now it somewhat sounds much better and open up on the vocal portion by tweaking the 7k-20k range. Still need to find a sweet spot general setting. hmm.gif

That is a great deal for the HD58X's.

This groovy track sounds pretty amazing on both HD6XX and HD58X.

Purchased the HD58X because 120 usd is too good of a deal to pass up.

BTW I don't have DAC or Amp, do you think HD58x sounds OK if driven directly thru handphone and laptop? Or should I buy an amp (any to recommend?)?

Shipping not sure yet, forwarder need to weigh it first after arrived at their warehouse. Estimate should be under rm100.

This is my first pair of good cans, very excited to try what they sound like. Thanks for the info guys. Wouldn't have discovered this good deal if not for this thread 👍

Our Sennheiser local retail price is seriously overpriced lol. Rm1000 for HD58x and HD560s yikes

My experience is the weight is usually 1.7-1.8lbs. Also please note your item value declaration will have tax if more than rm500 *wink*

I too need a replacement pad and foam for my G4ME Zero. Neither original replacements (bloody expensive!) or ones I got from Lazada lasted much more than a year, two at most.

My biggest issue is mostly with disintegrating covers, the foams themselves tend to outlast the covers. Can anyone recommend a replacement that will not disintegrate? Is it possible to get pads custom made using more long lasting materials?

The pads seem to be mounted the same way as Sennheiser's HD6 series. Try checking Dekoni, maybe message them if you're worried they might not fit.

Looks like they do have one that fits Game Zero headsets, but the material is synthetic leather which does not bode well.
