I've seen people discussing online talking about other keyboards being better than the Corsair K70 but did not state their reason. Anyone have any opinion on that? 

The most common things I heard about the K70 are the LED burning out within 4 months and the keyboard dying within 3.

Highly recommended for that class of grease. Tamiya grease/lube is designed for plastic-metal contacts.

What is normally recommended is silicone grease (not heatsink thermal paste) which is also used to lube flashlight o-rings. Lelong has one or 2 sellers, or find some dielectric grease which are pure silicone grease.
I just used vaseline which was more widely available which might corrode certain types of rubber but I'm not using o-rings.

The R3 groupbuy is happening right now if you want to buy a complete set of Purple Zealios.  IMO they are the best switches I've ever typed on, and I have pretty much every one of them   Of course, it is personal preference.
