Those who have experience with importing MKB from taobao, is there any problem with local customs ? will you be taxed?

Also, is there a reason to not use Taobao's own direct shipping?
*
hmm, never bring in from taobao before, my bulk supply for mechanical keyboards is based on looking for supplier on AliBaba CN. hmm.gif

just go talk to any agent and they should be able to help you, but I know for a fact you should be worried about taxation, it's not a rare incident to get taxed from buying from Taobao.

DEFINITELY do not use Taobao direct shipping (especially if you're not able to read Chinese, A LOT of steps) way higher risk of taxation and longer waiting period, just pay the mark up fee by agent if the item isn't so expensive. Direct shipping is good for buying large quantities of cheap non electronic stuff that you're not rushing for.

Thanks for the info, I have bought normal items via taobao direct shipping many times(yes I can read Chinese), but a MKB seems too fragile for it.

I'm eyeing on this Coolermaster Masterkeys PRO L

RM5XX for Cherry MX RGB Full Size seems like a very good deal, but if it involves taxes and agent fees then it might not worth it anymore.  blush.gif

hmm.gif hmm.gif

Any idea what's the local pricing here?

I calculated inclusive of agent fees, it should still come below RM690 before tax (brown switch).

Could not find anyone selling it locally, anyway, if taobao direct:

869RMB(Brown switch) + 32RMB(Taobao Direct) = 891RMB = RM56X
*
then seems like a no brainer to go through Direct, but better get advice from the Taobao direct thread in Serious Kopitiam for advice. hmm.gif

Less 100 but without warranty worth it? CM had 2 (or 3 years) warranty.

hard to say... hmm.gif CM is 3 years btw (at one time it was 4 by Jayacom).

I also kena before, they said china custom being strict for some reason and my shipment was delayed. I actually shopped many times with taobao direct before, all non fragile items were packed together pretty badly, wondering if they will give more care to a mkb, also, taobao direct uses skynet when for local courier.

BTW, I heard all made-in-china items has no import tax, is it true?
*

Any item valued over RM500 is subject to GST, import tax, etc. SIRIM too. Yes, definitely less likely than buying from the US, but Chinese imports are taxable as w
WRONGGGGG, got import tax! ell. This is where the agents come in, they lower the risk by a lot.

Skynet is good for cheaper uses, but for mine since it is a business involving mechanicals, I use a more expensive courier service, but if you're just buying one for yourself, just use skynet. ABX is fine too.

Courier to avoid: Kangaroo

P/S: They won't give extra care to mkb, etc, the only ones whom you should rely to give extra care would be the seller themselves, couriers no give fuk. ohmy.gif

not sure, because tenso is a foreign agent, not local, so i think they have less control when it comes to taxing. mega_shok.gif

Hey guys, I want to try my hand at soldering (have a faulty Ducky keyboard with me a customer traded in for a LingYi keyboard + top up cash so I figured this would be a good learning experience)

It is using Cherry MX blues, I think I won't be able to swap the faulty keys with the less used keys since got at least 4 switches that are damn near unusable, so I'll need to find spare switches already.

Can anyone advice/or if anyone here is selling a few unused switches? Kaihl works too, as long as it is Cherry compatible.

Also this one is an LED keyboard, should I consider getting replacement LEDs or re-use them? Thanks!

Depends on your keyboard i think?
If I recall correctly, I was able to remove the stabs from my shine 2 by desoldering the switch that is sitting in between the stabs only, not the whole board.

Maybe KuzumiTaiga can help us verify when he mod his biggrin.gif
*
mine is not a shine 2, but I doubt i'd need to desolder the whole board. hmm.gif

Just RMA'ed my CM QFR-i for 3 dead LEDs, one-to-one exchange. Hope this one does not encounter any similar failures anytime soon
*
even if it does happen, be it before or after warranty period, it's an easy repair job. smile.gif if there isn't any one to one exchange I'd just save the troubles and fix it myself.

My ducky zero numpad 1,2,3 ,0 and enter doesnt work. maybe need solder back or replace..
*
if you can live with it for another month, come look for me in cheras selatan after 20th May, I'll be able to repair for you if you come over to my place. Try determining if it is switch dying or not, if yes then might want to start sourcing for a few and standby before bringing to me.

Hmm, hope it's alright to promote here, spreading awareness? haha

grateful for LYN's support for my LingYi keyboards,

i'm currently selling a new addition, haven't had the time to promote properly yet.

It's a true RGB keyboard,

so if you don't have the money to spend on a Razer BlackWidow or Corsair's RGB series which are easily 500~700 ringgit, you should consider getting this. hmm.gif

Price is RM290 (inclusive of Poslaju, one set of keycaps, mousepad) (black keycap blue switch currently out of stock in factory, as of 27 April can order white keycap blue switch as shown in video #2 and black keycap black switch)

Video 1, black keycap blue switch

Video 2, white keycap blue switch (compared against Corsair Strafe RGB in terms of lighting)

plz don't bash me here, I think you guys especially the experts would sanction and allow this.

For those who haven't noticed, I'm selling keyboards with Gateron RGB switches now, [davey.havok] (wait, you're Bunny on fb right) says I should be hyping this out since it's probably the only keyboard in existence with Gateron RGB switches. whistling.gif So.. icon_idea.gif

And here's the kicker, it's less than 300 bucks (well, 290, but still less) whistling.gif

comes with free 104 keycaps, and warranty for as long as I sell mech. keyboards. yawn.gif

forgive the ugly watermark, kinda hate it when people steal photos/videos without my permission, especially them tards in the past trying to pass my LingYi keyboards as RGB keyboards doh.gif

edit: (disclaimer on the comparison with K95) I think it also looks dimmer because of camera focusing on the AULA, but it really IS brighter than the K95.

That ISO enter... Such a shame...
It's definitely not the only stock-Gateron-RGB model in existence. But it is one of the first, and you're probably the only seller for it in Malaysia right now.

Due to the lack of acceptable options for Gateron RGB boards, I've decided to hack my Blackwidow TE Chroma & replace the stock yucky Razer Greens with Gaterons. From what I can see, the RGB LEDs used by Razer seems a fit for the Gaterons... Hmm
*
LEDs used can fit? blink.gif oh no.... shakehead.gif let's hope this is as far as AULA's keyboard can be similar to Razer. shakehead.gif
