You can't run away from maths, when you do grocery shopping, calculating fuel consumption, calculating interest rate for bank loan , figuring out whether that purchase is worth it. Nearly everything uses maths and it is one of those few things that you will use throughout your life regardless of whatever profession you join directly or indirectly.Your dad is right sort of, communication and business has a reputation of accepting students that can't go anywhere else, so the students there are definitely not the best and the brightest.
