QUOTE(Jay Chua CC @ Sep 9 2020, 02:15 PM) Considering want to buy the wheel cleaner or not, but can just use the car shampoo to clean also right. like a bit redundant Its not cheap samo. I would say wheel well / tyre / rim need at least APC to clean. Dont think car shampoo is strong enough. QUOTE(miaopurr @ Sep 9 2020, 02:20 PM) altho i'd like to have the far side of the wheels cleaned. hard to reach Get some wheel brushes hehe. Not long ago saw Mr DIY got some pretty decent wheel brushes.

QUOTE(Jay Chua CC @ Sep 9 2020, 02:32 PM) Whats APC? So what do you recommed ? Osren, TW, Megs are too expensive for a tyre cleaner APC = All purpose cleaner. A very versatile product. There are whole lot of brands to choose for APC. Price is all over the place. If you want affordable then as bro Woodentiger mentioned, (diluted) sunlight dishwasher liquid also works haha. QUOTE(woodentiger86 @ Sep 9 2020, 02:39 PM) Usually I use either leftover wash solution or Sunlight dishwasher liquid to wash rims. Almost forgot about sunlight dishwasher liquid! haha

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Sep 9 2020, 02:50 PM) got one lolyat autodetailing oldtimer told me dishwashing liquid not good for painted surface. Maybe. Many ways to think about this. For sure dishwashing liquid wasnt intended to be used on cars, but so far it worked fine for me. If want to be really safe, can always get dedicated APC for cars and wheel cleaners.

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Sep 24 2020, 10:44 AM) just wash n wipe. waxing maybe next round I see. Wet or dry application? Perhaps not as durable without surface prep. Hmm. QUOTE(Jay Chua CC @ Sep 24 2020, 10:48 AM) i wipe dry the car already then only apply the sio2. panel by panel method. still not very satisfactory. Btw we shud wait for how long before buffing it off? before this , i buff off after i finish with a panel, then move on to the other As far as I know for SiO2 sprays, no need wait can just buff off immediately. I would have done the same as you. Spray, spread and buff.

QUOTE(shaniandras2787 @ Sep 27 2020, 03:25 PM) need help. not sure what i did inaccurately but everytime i washed my MF cloth, they all came out flat and rough, it looks like most of the fibres are flat dead after they are dried. i washed them separately using the laundry detergent i used for my clothes and in warm water - they do feel fluffy when wet though. :sigh: How did you dry them? Don't dry them under the sun and try not to use dryer to be safe, because heat will melt the fibres and make them hard and unable to absorb liquid.

QUOTE(shaniandras2787 @ Sep 27 2020, 03:36 PM) hand washed them and hung them to dry on the towel rack inside my toilet =/ Hmm. Doesn't sound like you did anything to damage them. The detergent you used is normal detergent without softeners right? Do they still absorb water fine? (After you have washed and dry them)

QUOTE(shaniandras2787 @ Sep 27 2020, 10:16 PM) yeap, normal liquid detergent (dynamo). they absorb water just fine but i just couldn't get them back to its original fluffy state like how it was when i purchased them. a bit annoyed. sad. I think as long as it absorb water well and not rough to the touch (abrasive) then it should be fine.

QUOTE(shaktiv8 @ Oct 6 2020, 11:33 AM) Hello! Anybody know where i can get a 3 inch DA Polisher in malaysia ? Need something for my painted wheels, have become very dull, full of waterspots after one year of use. Do you mean to polish your rims? I think it's too intricate even for 3 inch polishers. Maybe need those Rupes iBrids type of polishers. Why don't you try hand polishing it? Get some polish cream and microfibre cloths and try polishing it see if it works or not.

QUOTE(RigerZ @ Nov 10 2020, 08:30 AM) Hi all, beginner question here.
What causes these streaks after waxing? Is it my cloth didnt wipe over the area properly? I usually only notice them after a few days or the next time I wash my car.
Seems like an issue of applying too much wax. Try applying thinner layer of wax. A little goes a long way when applying wax. I am guessing when you apply too thick wax, the outer layer cure faster than the inner layer, so after you apply and buff off the outer layer, everything looks nice but inner layer slower to cure so they have not turn white like in your pic yet. Hence the reason why we only notice them a few days later after the inner layer of wax had cured. So applying a thinner layer of wax should allow them cure in a more uniform manner. QUOTE(RigerZ @ Nov 10 2020, 10:24 AM) Interesting! Is there a way I can tell during the waxing if i ter-applied too much wax? I also noticed that there are only a few random streaks here and there instead of all over the whole car. I dont really have a method, try to get a feel thru trial and error I guess. I can only advise don't dab too much wax on the applicator sponge or cloth.

QUOTE(Waliuuu @ Nov 19 2020, 07:33 PM) I would like to know too.. I have black streaks all over my car.. Even though I pull out the door handle and detail with APC + detail brush, still I see black streaks right after ONE heavy rain Probably the 'acid' rain 'eating' out the rubber/ plastic/ gaskets/ seals from top then flow down and etch onto paintwork?? I think we can never 100% prevent these black streaks, tho for my case I find cleaning crevices & tight spots with APC + detail brush will noticeably 'lessen' the black streaks if compared to not cleaning with detail brush. For the door handle I think it's a bit tricky because I observe for my car, they put grease in the inner part of the handle, so probably grease + dust & dirt = tricky to clean and prevent black streaks. So I tend not to pull out my door handle to clean the inner parts as not to 'disturb' the greased parts, just detail brush the handle without pulling it out.

QUOTE(#Victor @ Dec 1 2020, 03:40 PM) din expect the Hydro Ceramic Shield is so tiny and cute.. does it need to dilute with water as the instruction here says dilute 1:4 with water? I would say 1st application use it neat, and top up 1:1 / 1:2 dilution ratio. 1:4 gave bad result for my case. QUOTE(blurcase @ Dec 1 2020, 06:07 PM) Long time no see sifu

QUOTE(alexander.ch_1992 @ Aug 27 2021, 10:50 AM) Hi everyone, need some help from the sifu here. Can anyone recommend me a contact for car seat mould cleaning? My car is full of mould now after not driving it for one month. I am based in KL area. Thank you so much in advance. You can search for "Jupiter Car Wash & Detailing" on FB. They are based in Wangsa Melawati. I never visited the shop before but heard they are ok. A quick look on their FB page shows they do deep clean for Interior by removing all the seats and lining and stuff. Maybe you can give it a try.
