laugh.gif Actually PMR is not really important. I mean, just try ur best to achieve an acceptable results through ur secondary school studies. What matters the most, is when u leave highschool for college. Those who gets good results, congrats. Those who did not, do not let that discourages your future studies smile.gif

btw, i'm currently in 3rd year degree program of networking and computer system.

Good luck guys.

PMR 2004 for me. Hi-five, Baronic and Aztec! =D We got the same results. Doesn't really matter now though, I'm waiting for my SPM results at the moment now. >_<

My school used to threaten to kick out students who got anything less than 6 As, but apparently it was all bark and no bite.

Anyway, as long as you guys didn't fail anything, and manage to get a handful of As for your PMR, you probably have a shot at Science stream.
*
I was a 2004 PMR student too xD but i got 8 blush.gif

anyway, i realized this year's BM is a bit tricky. my mum's friend's son got 7A's and 1C, which happens to be BM.

weird.

even degree holders find it hard to get job nowadays. So, u cant expect SPM holders to find jobs with nice pays.Your nephew still has a long way to go.Advice him now and discuss with him about his future.Ask him what he's gonna do if he happen(miraculously) to be in science stream..and what he'll do if he got arts.Well,he still have to take modern maths right? So there's no way out.
Tell him that if he gets 10A1 for his SPM, there is a chance for a JPA scholarship...and for that he has to change his studying methods and attitude.U can't really underestimate a person's talent with exam results...
There's no point at looking back..It is about time he decides what is next for his future.
Best way, is to ask him directly. thumbup.gif
I have known ppl who scored excellently in SPM but slapped with bad CGPA's in their STPM....and students who are not straight A's achievers in their SPM shined so well in their STPM,defeating the ex-top achievers.
So, it depends on aptitude and attitude. cool2.gif

greetings,

my sister's son pmr result:

bahasa melayu     > c
bahasa inggeris    > d
matematik           > e
sains                   > c
sejarah                > d
geografi               > c
kemahiran hidup bersepadu pilihan 1   > c
pendidikan ialam   > e

wanna ask from valued forummers, notworthy.gif

1. from dis result did he pass de exam or not? coz at de end of de slip there was no grading. yet he can continue to go to form 4.

2. would my sister's son later gets a pmr certificate, u know the one with results printed on thick paper?

3. what kind of courses dat he can take next year in form 4?

4. can he get a reasonable job in future with dis kind of result?

5. is it de practice of de education ministry nowadays to allow students with such result to continue to form 4? if so, what do u think is de reason?

during my school years, dat exam was called lower certificate of education and if students gets dis kind of result during my time, de students failed.

my head's blur right now. can't lay out proper questions. hope forummers can understand. dis is sumthing sad for me to greet year 2007.

thanks in advance. notworthy.gif

His results look pretty bad . But then again he passed it since he got a C for his BM . It's standard that as long as the student passes his BM , he's eligible to receive a certificate . There's no chance for him in going into Science classes though. So Art subjects are mainly his only choices . If you know some poeple in his school maybe you could pull a few strings .

For jobs , usually they'll only look at your SPM results and degrees . So don't really bother about his PMR results . They're just for decorations .

How come this question come all the way here pulak sweat.gif

Wouldn't it be easier for you to ask directly from the headmaster/mistress?

IMO, he should be able to make it to form4
Some of my classmates (last time) failed more than your sister's son and they made it through.

well...U gotta ask again...In my opinion,u certainly deserve a place in science stream.Or perhaps your school is too strict?
Ask your teacher a.s.a.p.
This truly amazes me.I had a classmate who merely got into science just beacuse he passed...and his results were next to failing grades!!..But he still made it into science.
If he can..why can't u? biggrin.gif

Lol, i usually get EST 95 and above, english i best in class, one of the public speaking competitors at that time, New South Wales English Test, i got 97th percentile in the whole country and 100th percentile (highest grading in my school)

SPM EST i get B3. like WTFFFFF. All those with worse english than me got A1. Looks like if your english too good and examiner dun understand what the heck he reading, he gives u low grade.

But thats off topic. (and 2 years ago)

Now, back to topic, the dude will prob go art stream with those marks, no way any school will allow him to go science.

Find out why he not doing well. If cuz lazy or bad company u know the drill. If he says he doesnt like the subjects (if he doesnt want to study then go kill himself, how to succeed, truly succeed in life?)

If he say he dun like his subjects, then arts is the way to go, try going into something more artistic like painting, acting, etc.

What ever it is, must buck up. Not to say no future for him, but in the world where it is getting more and more competitive, must buck up. PMR results not so important for getting on in life. SPM is, and then your diploma and stuff. So its not too late.

dude i gotta agree with you on this, i got a B as well for my est and it never came across me that i will get this kind of results previously. est was one of the easiest subject and so i was shocked to see my grades for that particular subject.
i guess you are right, if they dont understand, they will just fail you or lower your grades mad.gif
