greetings,

my sister's son pmr result:

bahasa melayu > c
bahasa inggeris > d
matematik > e
sains > c
sejarah > d
geografi > c
kemahiran hidup bersepadu pilihan 1 > c
pendidikan ialam > e

wanna ask from valued forummers, notworthy.gif

1. from dis result did he pass de exam or not? coz at de end of de slip there was no grading. yet he can continue to go to form 4.

2. would my sister's son later gets a pmr certificate, u know the one with results printed on thick paper?

3. what kind of courses dat he can take next year in form 4?

4. can he get a reasonable job in future with dis kind of result?

5. is it de practice of de education ministry nowadays to allow students with such result to continue to form 4? if so, what do u think is de reason?

during my school years, dat exam was called lower certificate of education and if students gets dis kind of result during my time, de students failed.

my head's blur right now. can't lay out proper questions. hope forummers can understand. dis is sumthing sad for me to greet year 2007.

thanks in advance. notworthy.gif

1. Yeah, E is considered a fail.

2. I'm not sure about this, but let's follow what one of the users said.

3. Art stream [commerce]. Science stream is definitely out of the question; there is a minimum amount of As you have to meet for that, the minimum differs with each school.

4. People rarely try to get jobs with their PMR results...it's their SPM results that will truly make a difference. Employers are only interested in at least SPM results for jobs nowadays.

5. Yeah, all students automatically advance to Form Four regardless of their PMR results. Secondary school education is not over for them, and does not end after PMR.

Don't worry too much about your nephew. Many people have done badly for their PMR, and made a comeback for their SPM. Who knows, he might end up getting decent results for his SPM. =) Employers won't care about his PMR results then, if he has scored well for his SPM, which is definitely more important.

Lol, i usually get EST 95 and above, english i best in class, one of the public speaking competitors at that time, New South Wales English Test, i got 97th percentile in the whole country and 100th percentile (highest grading in my school)

SPM EST i get B3. like WTFFFFF. All those with worse english than me got A1. Looks like if your english too good and examiner dun understand what the heck he reading, he gives u low grade.

But thats off topic. (and 2 years ago)

Now, back to topic, the dude will prob go art stream with those marks, no way any school will allow him to go science.

Find out why he not doing well. If cuz lazy or bad company u know the drill. If he says he doesnt like the subjects (if he doesnt want to study then go kill himself, how to succeed, truly succeed in life?)

If he say he dun like his subjects, then arts is the way to go, try going into something more artistic like painting, acting, etc.

What ever it is, must buck up. Not to say no future for him, but in the world where it is getting more and more competitive, must buck up. PMR results not so important for getting on in life. SPM is, and then your diploma and stuff. So its not too late.
