Stardew Valley is an open-ended country-life RPG!

QUOTE
You've inherited your grandfather's old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home? It won't be easy. Ever since Joja Corporation came to town, the old ways of life have all but disappeared. The community center, once the town's most vibrant hub of activity, now lies in shambles. But the valley seems full of opportunity. With a little dedication, you might just be the one to restore Stardew Valley to greatness!

Features
Turn your overgrown field into a lively farm! Raise animals, grow crops, start an orchard, craft useful machines, and more! You'll have plenty of space to create the farm of your dreams.

Improve your skills over time. As you make your way from a struggling greenhorn to a master farmer, you'll level up in 5 different areas: farming, mining, combat, fishing, and foraging. As you progress, you'll learn new cooking and crafting recipes, unlock new areas to explore, and customize your skills by choosing from a variety of professions.

Become part of the local community. With over 30 unique characters living in Stardew Valley, you won't have a problem finding new friends! Each person has their own daily schedule, birthday, unique mini-cutscenes, and new things to say throughout the week and year. As you make friends with them, they will open up to you, ask you for help with their personal troubles, or tell you their secrets! Take part in seasonal festivals such as the luau, haunted maze, and feast of the winter star.

Explore a vast, mysterious cave. As you travel deeper underground, you'll encounter new and dangerous monsters, powerful weapons, new environments, valuable gemstones, raw materials for crafting and upgrading tools, and mysteries to be uncovered.

Breathe new life into the valley. Since JojaMart opened, the old way of life in Stardew Valley has changed. Much of the town's infrastructure has fallen into disrepair. Help restore Stardew Valley to it's former glory by repairing the old community center, or take the alternate route and join forces with Joja Corporation.

Court and marry a partner to share your life on the farm with. There are 10 available bachelors and bachelorettes to woo, each with unique character progression cutscenes. Once married, your partner will live on the farm with you. Who knows, maybe you'll have kids and start a family?

Spend a relaxing afternoon at one of the local fishing spots. The waters are teeming with seasonal varieties of delicious fish. Craft bait, bobbers, and crab pots to help you in your journey toward catching every fish and becoming a local legend!

Donate artifacts and minerals to the local museum.

Cook delicious meals and craft useful items to help you out. With over 100 cooking and crafting recipes, you'll have a wide variety of items to create. Some dishes you cook will even give you temporary boosts to skills, running speed, or combat prowess. Craft useful objects like scarecrows, oil makers, furnaces, or even the rare and expensive crystalarium.

Customize the appearance of your character and house. With hundreds of decorative items to choose from, you'll have no trouble creating the home of your dreams!

Xbox controller support (with rumble)! (Keyboard still required for text input)

Over two hours of original music.

Hmm how would you rate the romance/relationship aspect of the game? I mean is it like harvest moon, a bit more reserve, asian like or more toward western style, open, more brash

More toward western style, can even same-sex marriage.
It's more similar to traditional HM, and nearly every villager still have their own heart event.
However if you expect something like RF, then you might not enjoy it.

BUT, if you enjoyed traditional HM series (HM SNES until HM FoMT), then you should try out this game.
This game is pretty solid. You have a big freaking huge farm, and it's entirely up to you to how your farm layout looks like.
You can even set where to put the barn!

If you don't like farming, you can go hunting in dungeon, similar to RF (no main storyline though).
Still don't like? Go fishing.

In this game, you have 5 skills that can level up: farming, mining, foraging, fishing, and combat.
You can choose whenever you prefer. Of course it is possible to max all of them (and it's not really that hard).

TL;DR:
This game is HM (SNES) with steroid + Starbound/Terraria/Minecraft (a bit of sandbox aspect) + old school 2D dungeon (like zelda) + Animal Crossing.

Just played the flower dance festival and i had a great laugh. Everyone rejected me!

Anyway, how much did you guys made in a season?. Im wondering if im too slow since i only made 21k so far and it's 26th of spring. I am switching between activities like 1 day mining, the other day fishing and foraging.

Sounds alright, if you don't mind to farm, save some money for summer, and then fall.
Via farming, these two seasons can easily make you earn until 6 digits. laugh.gif
Hints: berries.
But of course you need proper tools for that (upgraded water can, fertilizer, quality sprinkler if can) to minimize your time spend on watering them.

Pretty good guide to each seasonal crops that net you the best profit. I realize i totally screw up my spring harvest cuz i just randomly throw crops in. At the end of season i wasted like 20-30 crops i thought each season is 30 days doh.gif

Haha, right, instead of normal 30 days, developer make it 4 weeks (4 x 7 = 28 days).
Still your earning is fine, should be able to earn quite a lot in summer.

"Just one more day."

Can't leave room.

Lost job.

Everyone IRL and online has stopped talking to me.

Eating dust bunnies and dead skin cells for nutrients.

Relieving myself into mineral water bottles.

Level 80.
My suggestion, don't go through every level in detail.
Once you found the stair to next level, take it (unless that level really has something you never seen before).
There will be elevator checkpoint for every 5 level, so it's not hard to revisit those level.
It would be better to advance faster.

I got really lucky with fishing and got a neptune glaive out of the chest. The sword is like the 3rd highest in damage among sword class so killing monster is never a problem at low level mine. 1 tip is to kill those larvae before they turn into flying creatures as they are very annoying and dealt quite a damage

So...while the game is really nice, I still wish some aspect of this game can be more towards my liking.
For that, I created (to be more accurate, derived and modified from this, but I've modified so much that now it's nearly all different) this small tool:

Feature:
- Make music loop (possibly a bug)
- Modify run speed, time progress speed
- Min/Max zoom value (you can actually modify the save file to do this, but this tool just allow you to adjust it in game UI)
- Toolbar offset up-down (zoom out too much somehow blocked part of toolbar)

Download (source available as well if you're scare if this little exe will make your device explode): https://bitbucket.org/bergstein/stardew_inj...torEx_105_2.zip
Usage: unzip it to game directory, adjust settings in Stardew_Injector.exe.config (open it via notepad will do), and run Stardew_Injector.exe.
Note: Most possibly won't work with other mod. Also only tested with GoG 1.0.5, but it should work on any version > 1.0.3

Definitely. Every villager has their own best, good, normal, bad and worst gifts.
Every level increase/decrease the heart meter differently.
It's even more noticeable when you gift them the best gift on their birthday, it really boost a lot.

In the wiki, check the villagers. Certain villagers prefer certain minerals. The rest just sell all of them after except earth crystal and fire quartz(crafting purpose).

Edit, yes, best gift boost the % most. If you give them on birthday is instant 2 hearts.

I don't think it would be stolen, but do note that if item blocking the NPC walk path, NPC will force walk through it and destroy it.

Yep it works. At least now i don't have to cramp my house with all the chests.

Anyway, is there a way to move the buildings around in the farm?. Demolishing as in break down the whole building and need to pay again to rebuild?

Sadly no.
Well in reality it's kind of impossible to move building as well, but rebuilding at full cost is really harsh.
Maybe can suggest developer to add in option to rebuild with reusing the material of old building with some extra cost. biggrin.gif

Try open craft menu and craft some chest.
Energy wise, forage in spring and fall is a pretty good source.

I also went with mushroom. You get consistent gold every week for selling it unlike fruits bat provide fruit randomly and not always spawn. We can also plant our fruit tree which i think fruit bats is not quite useful in the later game.

Hmm... some said the bats will drop some rare fruits (good for bundles) and good for making wine. But I'm leaning more towards the mushroom though. hmm.gif

I didn't go for fruits path because we could easily forage/plant trees for them. From what i read from online there are only few exotic fruit is worth to get from the bat and it's all random. Mushroom is the way to go for consistency in gold income.

Stumble upon a video regarding the 1.1 update that will most probably be released next month. We're getting to choose different farm layout instead of standard like river farm, hill farm and few more.

Watch the TV everyday before you go out for the day. Weather forecast allows you to plan the day after tomorrow. Like if it rains tomorrow you don't have to water your crop and you can spend time elsewhere. Cooking show also teach u on new recipes so keep watching it everyday.

Go to the beach u will see a broken bridge. Collect the material at early stage to fix the bridge and you have access to corals, shells which is sold for good amount of gold. Upgrade your watering can should be priority because you will be using it everyday the most. Spend time alternating between foraging, farming, fishing and mining. Personally i do two work each day. Go to the beach after the rainy day because chorals will spawn in large quantity.

Pretty much thats what i do at the beginning. There is no fixed path and once you get into the game for some time you'll get a hang on it. Very fun game and it's up to your play style IMO. Enjoy tongue.gif

want to share my experience with SV so far

I played a new game and chose Hilltop Farm from 1.11 update, grinding for about a week now (1 hour play time everyday) and it felt like I'm not getting anywhere in this game. Now is 15th day of Summer, got 4500 of gold and still cannot get skill upgrade in Fishing.

Last night I downloaded a mod to freeze time and stamina, bam! No more tedious mining and passing out when working. ^^ It's time to modify my farming tools.

Overall it's a nice face-paced farming simulator, with a mix of otome elements and collecting items. Personally I still prefer the classic charm of Harvest Moon and Rune Factory series but I'm going to keep this SV and see what the developer going to offer next.

Question-
I read comments on Steam page why many people are so crazy about requesting multiplayer feature?

My normal farm is year 2 spring. Fishing farm still year 1 summer tongue.gif

Been playing every now and then when i got time. Do not have to rush so play at your own pace. Some people can obtain most of the item and enough gold to buy anything in 2 years time. My first farm is a mess though it looks so ugly. Now im replaying for 2nd time to build my a nice farm while earning gold at steady pace. If you hit the so called 'end game' you can always replay with another farm layout, marry different girl, play different profession.

Hahaha i was clueless when i first started out too. Now I alternate between 2 activities daily like farming + fishing, farming + mining, foraging+ mining, foraging+ fishing, etc etc. There are seasonal crops where you can plant that would yield the best profit (i refer to online wiki/guide http://www.gamerevolution.com/guides/70045...or-each-season). If you head to the beach you'll notice a broken bridge. Fix it at the beginning game so you can access to another side of the beach that you can collect coral/shells that will also sell for good amount of gold.

The best thing about PC is the mod.

In mobile version, there is this Tap-to-move & Auto-Attack, which I like the most.
