that's a pretty large living room u got there. yes, you should consider the S550 for it as Edifier said.
the DA5000 would be nice as well if you are under budget, but I would seriously recommend the S550 for your room setup, though.

if you already have a DVD player with 5.1 channel analogue output, you don't need an amplifier or separate receiver. Just hook the speakers up to ur DVD player as with ur R501 previously.

the S550 supports 5.1 analogue input for now, and no HDMI if you want to hook it up to your LCD TV for the 5.1 effect. but as from my experience with HDMI and digital connections, they are not much different compared to analogue ones. your money should always be spent on a good set of speakers first that is value for your money, such as the S550. biggrin.gif
